I'm another one who has never seen/heard of the series. But after reading your fic, I quickly searched for some info on it, which cleared things up a bit. It looks like a cool series...And your fic was awesome :) I don't think you had to much dialogue at all; I always find that through interaction with others that you can get a better understanding of a character. I loved the description of the illness, too. You're great at that. :)
