Snowzilla!
Jan. 23rd, 2016 10:33 pmWe've got about 3 feet of snow out there... and it's still coming down. I managed to dig myself out this morning (my door opens outward, so I had to push hard and shovel out with a bowl enough to squeeze out to shovel. I managed to shovel down my stairs, through the courtyard to the archway beside my house before neeing a break. My cats have been LOVING watching the snow and the birds. I raised one of their beds up so they could get a better look. And apart from sitting on me, that's where they've been for two days straight. I went out this evening and dug out my back door in order to refill the birdfeeder, which was nearly picked clean in a day and a half. I also shoveled out my neighbor, as neither of their entrances had been touched. I didn't go near my car; I'll do that Sunday, maybe.
I've mostly been marathoning Poirot episodes, taking a hundred photos of my cats, and writing. I've been jumping around in fics, a little Supernatural here, a little Gilmore Girls there, and some drabbles mixed in. I've got some swaps I should work on, and some laptops I need to wipe for work. But I just don't feel like doing that. My tummy's been pretty bad, so I've pretty much been taking it easy. Apart from the shoveling. I know I strained a few muscles; I can feel them starting to hurt already.
I did end up seeing The Martian on Thursday evening. I enjoyed it, even though I had my hand up to my mouth for, like, 45 minutes. And I sobbed when David Bowie's "Starman" started playing. No one had warned me about that.
I found out Friday that there's a Shadowhunters TV series that no one told me about either! I watched the first two episodes online. Didn't like the limited amount of Magnus, and cop!Luke took me a while to get used to. But otherwise I'm liking it better than the movie version. I'm definitely more attracted to Izzy, so that's good (read: SHE IS GORGEOUS). I guess we'll see where it goes from here, but so far so good.
That's pretty much it. Lots of snow. Lots of kitty photos. Lots of writing. Lots of sitting here staring at Netflix and not writing. Apart from my stomach being its usual self and a horrible headache last night and Cassie choosing to ignore the litterbox this afternoon, all has been well.
Wanna see some photos? Of course you do!
