Absolutely. I have a hard time with AUs, so making canon events a dream/nightmare was my way of getting around it. And a hobbit who's lived a sheltered life being thrown into all that... you've got to expect some lingering emotional trauma. Just glad he has Thorin and the other dwarves around him to remind him everything's okay again.

I love how different Bilbo's sneezes are to Thorin's, and Bilbo having the fetish is awesome. As in you-deserve-cake awesome.

Squee! Glad you liked that part! It was also an excuse to have Bilbo sneezing near/in their rooms, on their doorknobs, etc. I thought I might even write a whole scene or two where they both start getting sick and end up sharing a bed to stay warm, but it took away from Bilbo's story and I just couldn't make it work. But the point is, I wanted Bilbo out there, spreading his sneezy dwarf cold around a lot before he was told how contagious they are. But checking on the boys was definitely also his way of calming down; I definitely think he needed to make sure they were both okay. And Thorin probably knew that's where he was going anyway :-)

Thorin indulges Bilbo's fetish and takes care of him and shares handkerchiefs with him. And Bilbo's able to forgo the fetish when it comes to Thorin needing his rest, too. <3
Absolutely! I loved writing in Bilbo's inability to have a handkerchief when he needs one and Thorin being the master of all of them, always having one at hand for either of them (or both of them). That was a fun dynamic to play with.

BALIN. HOLDING. BACK. For Bilbo. Poor Balin. But he understood and that was HOT, and he agreed to send someone to take care of them (and Bilbo understood that they needed to be taken care of and asked for help, awww!).
*EG* Balin's so wise and understanding and kind. I knew I wasn't going to be able to fit all the dwarves into this (especially as they don't all live in Erebor) but this role in the story was definitely meant for Balin. And, yeah, I loved Bilbo asking for help, especially knowing he couldn't take care of Thorin on his own in such a state.

Then there was the sex, which was...uh...um...unprintable? :D Really, really, really, REALLY hot. I love to read about sex acts that aren't standard PIV (or PIA, in the case of slash).

And then there was poor Dori, who now gets to keep warm and engage in delicious king-and-consort acts with the two of them as well.
I knew I wanted someone to join them, and for a while I thought it might be Balin. And I sooo wanted it to be Bofur because maybe I'm still madly completely in love with your fic on the SFF and the image of the three of them is so nummy. But I pulled up a photo of the company, scanned it a while, and decided Dori was just too cute to resist. Plus that nose of his all red and sneezy? Yum. So I'm glad you enjoyed the choice and the warm, snuggly ending!
