Nice Night
Aug. 2nd, 2003 10:59 pmWent out with friends to another town and had dinner at a NICE Thai place. Had a fantastic broccoli and tofu and garlic dish which was SPECTACULAR! I'm very full now :-)
We walked in and a song I recognized from the movie Serendipity was playing. It was a song one of the main characters' sig others plays. I was all confused until I realized that the movie itself was being played on the screens around the restaraunt. Kinda neat! I ADORE that movie :-) So that was a nice surprise. Sort of a push to convince me it was all right to take the time to go to dinner.
It was nice going out and talking... though it took 4 hours and I really didn't have that much time to kill. I'm exhausted already and didn't get any work done.
I reeeeeeally want to finish this Percy/Oliver fic I've had dangling since May. I have a hard time writing Percy now after Order of the Phoenix... but I think I'm setting this during Goblet of Fire, so Percy's not toooooo Percyish yet. Or maybe it's a few years after and he's less Percyish? I haven't yet decided.
On another note... I was listening to OotP more today, and I think I finally understand Snape almost entirely. Though I still can't decide if he's good or evil. I really can't. I don't know WHY he would still be working for Voldy... but it's possible. I think there's enough evidence to support it either way. Especially as I'm ambiguous about Dumbledore's goodness at this moment. *sigh* But I think I have a much better handle on Snape. Which is good. I've been confused about him lately.

Date: 2003-08-03 09:32 pm (UTC)I feel for Snape a lot. Even before I read OotP I had made him out in my mind as a social reject and to have a lot of qualities that were shown in flashbacks in OotP. But at the same time... he wasn't the nicest guy himself... I'm so torn with him. I just wrote a three page rant about him. When I finish the book again, I'm going to clean it up and post it to get ideas.
As for Percy. Yeah. I dunno WHY he's not in SLytherin with an attitude like this. Looking out just for himself, being ambicious, etc. So it makes me think at the end of the book, he'll come back over to the good side and help fight the good fight.
