TV Tonight

Friday... a usually good day for television, though somewhat disapointing this evening. I love 'John Doe' but it's not on tonight. And my favorite Friday show 'Monk' is a repeat I've seen at least three times already. Which won't, of course, prevent me from watching it a fourth time but does make the mystery less exciting :-)
I've watched Mr.Stirling a few times... wish politics was actually that good. Maybe I'll watch that.

My boyfriend and I are supposed to go out to see LotR:Two Towers at our artsy theater downtown, but he might get called away to PA for his grandmother's funeral, assuming she dies tonight as planned. Gods, that sounds dreadful, doesn't it? She's been nonresponsive and hasn't said a word in years, and she's been unconscious for days now... it's really sad and it's hard to know if she's in any pain, but the whole family is just hoping it will be quick and painless. So we have to include the possibility of a funeral in all of our plans.

So, I might be going to the Computer Science movie night alone, instead. They're showing a (free) double feature of Hackers and Anti-Trust. I've not seen either of those. But we'll see what happens. I'd much rather watch cute LotR boys *G*

Listened to HP3 in the car on the way to and from Walmart again tonight with my boyfriend. My favorite part in the chapters tonight:

Ron: Why couldn't Black have hidden in Snape's office, eh? He could have finished him off for us.

My usual response(yelled): He would have!!

My boyfriend's response tonight: Because they're in it together!

*snort* It's too cute. I can't wait for the shack scene *G* What a lovely book this is when you don't know what's going on. I almost wish I'd experienced it like that for the first time. But then again, I wouldn't trade my preconceived slash notions for anything *G*
ANd really, I've forgiven Snape... honestly, assuming Dumbledore doesn't turn evil, I trust his judgement and if Albus says the man is all right, I believe him.

When was The Belltower redesigned? *feels like she's missed out on a LOT in the last few months of being out of the "community"*
At any rate- it looks lovely! I've spent the last hour or so re-reading stories of hers I've read, what, twenty-five times before? (some many more than that, but I'm averaging) I can't read 'Jedi Academy' without getting all... weak *G* yeah... especially the second part. TOO delicious for words, truly!

Might have to send her an e-mail bugging for a few of them. Lovely stories :-) I've always adored her spellings of sneezes. And I swear, I can rarely see a mention of the X-Men's Nightcrawler without remembering his sneezing while bamfing(in Conflict of Interest). *giggle* Gotta love the fuzzy blue elf.

I'm making good progress.. I thought I'd finish the next part of it tonight, but I need to be on campus in 4 hours and I haven't gone to sleep yet. Soooooooo I'll finish up a few more paragraphs this afternoon and then edit a bit... haven't even given it one pass through yet. Then I'll post. :-) I'm really happy with it so far... a nice mix of sneezes and laughs and angst. YUMMY! :-)

I did some beta reading for Tro earlier, too, so I've put in my 'sneeze fic fun hours' for the day.

So we ended up going to see the Two Towers tonight. *sighs* This was my first experience seeing anything LotR on the big screen- and I saw it in my favorite theater- an old fashioned one where we do Rocky Horror twice a year. Anyway- YIKES! The men are gorgeous on the big screen *swoons* And it's even better the third time around!

Two of my previous CS professors (who were my bosses for a year, as well) were there and we tracked them down after the movie outside. So we were four Computer Science geeks standing around discussing plot devices and symbolism and Tolkien's intentions... and pretty much anything else you can imagine... Star Trek movies... Dracula(from a conversation about Christopher Lee)... and cold war movies (which frankly bore me to death, but that's men for you, right?)
So it was a fun (albeit cold and rainy) evening after the movie.

YUM... Samwise was even more adorable as well... "Don't you know your Sam?" Awwwww! *hugs the little hobbities* Aside from people behind us who didn't understand the Ents and kept saying "These trees are boring" I had a great time. And I sobbed openly when Haldair died *sniffles* and Sam's speeches, of course. *sigh* Lovely movie. I'm going to read the books now, most assuredly.

Ooohhhh! Another video plot bunny! Yay! *snuggles her bunnies*

A Frodo-falls-for-Samwise vid to the Indigo Girls' "Least Complicated". Might be a bit of a stretch for a few lines, but I could make it fit all right, I think. Ohhhh or maybe even "Moment of Forgiveness" hrm... I'm very weird, I suppose. I've seen a number of very good Frodo-Sam vids to traditional love songs, so maybe I just feel like being slightly different?

now baby i know
you're not one for baring witness
and you told me that
one wrong move is going to sell you out
and i see that you kept your word
and made it harder than it had to be
wish i could save you the trouble baby
give you a little piece of mind

guess that i was hoping
that you'd finally understand
and in a moment of forgiveness
you'd reach out and take my hand

Meanwhile, my cat is going completely mad... it's just the time of night, I think. But his favorite place to get into is under my desk, sitting on the surge protector and, um, BAD place for kitty to sit!
