HL & Work

Watched HL episode 'Under Color of Authority' with boyfriend tonight. Sobbed hard at the end- didn't think I would, but that line of Richie's about "are we ever going to have to face each other?" just KILLED me. Oh my gods... the sweet little new immie!!! That episode always chokes me up... boyfriend was rooting for Mako to be killed, but I really thought Richie was a little too headstrong and Mako was just being logical and doing his job, really. Two extremes... it's hard to have two extremes without someone losing his head.
ANyway, the added scene (Euro minutes) was FABULOUS. I can see why they cut it (lots of talking and a little long) but made me cry as well. Duncan was talking to Laura and she said he was acting like Richie's father. And he said no, he wasn't, but Richie was like family. That really said SO much about their bond... I've always LOVED this episode for the master/student dynamics... Richie suddenly breaks the ties, though Duncan sees it coming a mile away. The dynamics are wonderful- that tension, disagreement, Richie wanting to solve things on his own, and still Richie running to him for help. Duncan even tries to protect him, stand up for him. But realizes the kid's got to make his own choices and lets him go to die (or win, suprisingly).
I think it's stuff like this episode that made me fall in love with the Qui/Obi relationship. I'd NEVER do Duncan/Richie, as cute as they are. But a lot of the same emotions and ideas are there.

Boyfriend was shocked when I told him it meant Richie really wasn't going to be in the next episodes. He really WAS going for good. Made boyfriend depressed. YAY! Finally a valid emotional response! heehee I didn't mention that Richie comes crawling back in 'Prodigal Son' a few eps from now.

Anyway, just finished some work for tomorrow. I have more I SHOULD do but I can't keep my eyes open. Head hurts, eyes hurt, and need to be up "early" for the meeting. But at least I got something done. I'm so lazy! lol

*G* Just watched Stargate episode 'Crosswinds' with Peter Wingfield guest starring. Ooohhhh! No one can take a slimy snake alien in the neck like he can! *G* What a cutie! And that accent! Mmmm what a cutie. Can't wait to finish off 3rd and 4th season eps and get to the other Stargate episodes with him! And yeah, I know he probably dies... but still, he's lovely. And one hell of a nice guy in real life, to boot.

I'm watching that 'Pet Stars' show on Animal planet... they're having their championship right now... I don't think my favorite one (the frisbee dog, Sky) is going to make it, so I'm sad. But it's really neat seeing what all these animals can do. I sometimes think about taking my cat on one of those shows, but he doesn't fetch very well in front of people... he gets scared that if he brings the mousey back to me, they'll steel it and he won't get it back. I doubt he'd do well in front of a whole noisey audience! Ah well. My cat could beat 'em all, anyway. Would make everyone feel so inferior. Wouldn't want to do that, would I? lol
