Nice to be back!
I hate interstate driving. I just want to say that now. I didn't feel as uncomfy as I thought I would, I just don't like driving, so driving really fast with lots of semi's and a cat meowing constantly in the back seat isn't much fun. Plus it was my first solo driving on the interstate ever.
Got my new-to-me car! YAY! It's pretty :-) It's WAY too damn low to the ground for my tastes. But it's safer and works better than my '89 minivan which is currently in the shop.
Saw 'Pirates' yesterday with sister. Wow. Was very impressed. The acting was as good I expected. The plot was wonderful (simple enough, yet with good complexity and twists) and the special effects really made me think immediately of the ride at Disney Land- it's one of my favorite rides and I was surprised that I suddenly started thinking about it in the middle of the movie. So I guess they did their job with me. Favorite part? Will(Orlando) on the boat doing his Jack (Johnny) impression. LMAO! I ADORED their fight scene at the beginning in the blacksmith's shop. (I kinda cringed a bit, knowing Johnny hit Orlando on the hand and cut him while they were filming on the first few takes... but he was fixed right up. Still, made me cringe... and offer to kiss it all better...)
Lots of nasty sneezefic thoughts throughout... I almost started writing one in my head halfway through... a nice "catching a cold after the first thunderstorm on board" sneezefic... I could just see Will hunched over a small wooden table in the galley, blanket around his shoulders, nursing a mug of hot water (pirates are much too macho for tea... maybe warm hard cider or just grog?) Then I caught myself and told myself it was pointless to start writing something until I'd at least FINISHED watching the movie! haha!
I actually have written a lot of stories which take place on board ships... there's somthing absolutely fascinating and romantic about those big ships. Wind in the sails, adventure and danger... Mmmmm. Most of those stories involved someone getting sick, too... LOL Just another of my weaknesses...
Anyway, the trip home was good- nice to have a car that runs. But I have SO much work to do before Thursday now *sigh* Ah well. Just thought I'd check in.
I'm also considering finishing my site redesign and updating tonight... I think I just might...
