tarotgal: (Sneezes)
Just FYI... 'That Darn Cat' is replaying Saturday morning on the Halmark channel, 7:30amEST (check your local listings)

It's got a dozen great male allergy sneezes, with lovely build-ups and plenty of complaining. heehee It's a simply adorable movie otherwise, though. Maybe that's just because I love cats? *shrug* Anyway, catch it if you want it!

Wow... me too! Though after reading the possible choices, I like this one best anyway! lol!

You are "Welcome to the Caribbean, love."
You're more than a little world-weary, but also
intelligent and you keep your head when things
get dodgy. You're everybody's favorite
drinking buddy, but your stubbornness does get
in the way sometimes.

Which one of Captain Jack Sparrow's bizarre sayings from Pirates of the Caribbean are you?

On a side note... I'm definitely going to call my landlady Monday about my fridge. They gave me a hard time on the phone and I don't think they believed me the first time (our old fridges are a little weird, the higher you turn the dial up, the warmer the fridge gets and colder the freezer gets). But the dial is smack dab in the middle now and it's 62-66 degrees F in there. According to refrigerating and food websites, it's supposed to be 40 and below. So, um, I'd say I'm not insane when I try to tell them that my fridge is broken. They said they'd send someone to look at it and never did. Again, not a problem because everything's gone bad already and it's empty apart from 2 drinks which don't need to be refrigerated anyway. But I think I'm justified in complaining a second time and expecting action.

Highlander

*sigh* Nothing can cheer me up as much as a really spectacular Highlander episode. Tonight's pick was 'Forgive us our Tresspasses' which has some of the best scenes and lines in the entire series jam-packed into one episode. Kick ass morality, flashbacks to the days of the Jacobites (and an appearance by a "dead" Dougray Scott- YUM!), love, nobility, honor, revenge, justice, and so much angst even I'm overwhelmed by it! Ammy and Methos stick up for Duncan SO well when he's got his moral conflicts going on. OK, and Peter Wingfield in nothing but boxers and blue lighting. Another YUM!

"We're none of us perfect." ~Methos

"It's Tuesday. He doesn't take heads on Tuesdays." ~Duncan, about why Methos didn't kill Keane

"I love good guys" ~Methos, about why Keane didn't kill Methos

"I've come to watch the perfect Immortal die."~Methos
"I'm not-"~Duncan
"Not what? The perfect Immortal or not going to die?"~Methos, who's got a good point

"With my shield or on it." ~Duncan, going into battle

And sooooo many beautiful speeches about how revenge never solves anything and how in the end it doesn't matter, which I suppose everyone should understand by the end of the 5th season, but still makes for a great episode.

*sigh* Oh, and again, Peter Wingfield (Methos) in only boxers. Honestly. Doesn't get any better in an episode.

Just a tiny little ficlet I needed to get out. It's short and weird, but I thought I'd share. Guess all this PotC is putting me in a romantic mood :-)

Counting on It )

Ah :-) Twas fun. Now I'm off to set the VCR, shower, and sleep :-)

Um... governors... how long were their terms back then and in that part of the world? The fic I'm writing has Governor Swann as a governor spanning something like 10 years. Is this way too unrealistic? If so... perhaps it's just the luck of my fic that he was a governor in the first part and then got re-ellected in the later part? LOL
I'm feeling very confused. And it pretty much breaks my fic badly. So someone tell me there weren't term limits for governors there back then! :-)
*wishing I'd paid more attention in history class*

Nine.

Nine. Nine bloody phone calls while I was trying to sleep this morning! WHO THE WORLD calls a college student on a weekend morning and wakes them up? WHO WOULD BE THAT STUPID?! A whole NINE times I was woken out of sleep by the ringing phone. And to top off the torture not ONE even bothered leaving a message. So it could have been all telemarketers! Or it could have been really important and the idiots just didn't feel the need to leave a message. So I had nine completely pointless phone calls this morning that nonetheless woke me up. GRRRRRRR! This was supposed to be the night I catch up on sleep so I can work today and tonight pretty constantly! Grrrr! Bad people! I always screen my calls- especially in the mornings- so I don't want to turn it off completely in case there's some emergency or boyfriend's calling or something. So I'm stuck with mornings like this one. NINE?!!!! Who the...?!!!!

Tom!

So I'm sitting here annoyed about the lack of sleep this morning, and I go turn on the tv- and right there on the channel is the movie 'The Borrowers' and smack dab on the center of the screen is little Tom Felton *G* I've read the book, but never seen the movie before- though I knew he was in it. YAY! Oh, he's such a CUTE little kid!!! LOL Totally cheered me up :-)

EDIT: Wow... talk about good TV afternoon... having to flip among The Borrowers (which I came in late on so I don't care about the plot much, just nice to see little Tom as something other than Draco), a special on wolverines on Animal Planet(you wouldn't imagine how many sites I went to when working on the X-Files story trying to learn about Wolverine behavior), and Priscilla Queen of the Desert on Bravo(Ohhh HUGO! What a sexy lad you are!) Yay! Ug. I'm NEVER going to get any work done, am I? LMAO

EDIT on the EDIT: *sigh* You know, I think I'm going to have to buy Priscilla on DVD some day. It's just such a nice, uplifting, fun thing, you know? No matter what sort of a mood you're in it can make you smile. Not to mention that Hugo looks fabulous in drag. And I love Bernadette *G* Good movie. I still like Rocky Horror better (can't watch either of those without thinking of that Drew Carey episode years ago, lol!) but they're much different types of movies, obviously :-)
