Okay, I caved on the weekly challenge. I'm writing a VG fic for my Friday Fic, so it'll double that. Hope that works. I dunno... I'm suddenly realizing I'm going to have trouble integrating more music... hrmmm... must work on that...

I bought Timeline tonight at Walmart. I shouldn't have. I've no money. Also bought more blank video tapes. I was all out. Just have a couple blank hours here and there. I think I go through about 60 video tapes a year, on average. I buy them in 10's. I start to worry when I don't have a completely blank one at hand for a random movie or show.
And I needed one to tape Wolf's Rain off Cartoon Network this weekend!!! (At least, I think it's this weekend. It was Sat at 11 last I heard, but I'll double-check later). Anyway, I bought Timeline. Not going to watch it tonight. Too tired to work on thesis at same time. Will putz around and write sick!Curt instead.
And I'm going to use Target gift card to buy Big Fish on Tuesday. Yes. It all works out. Sure.

I need food. All I've eaten today was a small frozen pb&j and a mini pizza. Oh, and a cadbury egg. But, yeah, I need food. *reaches for croissant*

Okay, so, I was in the bank today depositing a check from Grandpa for my birthday (He always writes HAPPY BIRTHDAY in the memo section) and the teller looked at it and laughed and said she would be the same age I am now in a month. She wished me a late birthday, and I wished her an early one. And then she told me her husband was 25 and feeling old to have lived for a quarter of a century. Okay, so apart from the fact that that's a very funny way of putting it, she was a month younger than I am and married and my boyfriend's nearly 30. DAMN I felt old! LOL I mean, practically everyone in grad school is a couple years older than me... and most of my friends are married... but it's getting scary... it's just... it's one of those times where you step back and realize you have nothing and everyone else has so much and you feel old and left behind and panic, that's all.

On a VERY random note... I mentioned once sleeping in a museum. It was the Richmond Science Museum. Went there on a girl scout field trip when I was in 7th or 8th, I don't remember which. I was a cadet, that's all I recall. Anyway, it was this girl scout event where we spent the day in workshops and seeing an IMAX and things, and at night we slept right in the museum, amongst the displays. It was great. I can't remember where we slept... I remember a rock & magnetism exhibit very nearby, and I remember about 20 feet away was a computer that tried to figure out what your emotional problems were by having a conversation with you. Kept thinking we had multiple personality disorder because we each took turns and started off with "All right, it's Beth now" or whatever.
Us: Hi, I'm Beth.
Computer: Where is Sue?
Us: She is gone now.
Comp: It is not good to repress parts of yourself.
Anyway, it was a LOT of fun. There were workshops on visual tricks (perspectives, etc.), dinos, astronomy, and we even got to disect owl pellets to see what the owls ate! (mine had little mousey bones in it, if I recall correctly) Was VERY cool. But sleeping in the museum... that was just too awesome. Really. One of those once in a lifetime experiences.

My parents' birthday present to me arrived yesterday. Tis a CD I mentioned I wanted. 'Eddi Reader Sings the Songs of Robert Burns'. Is that perfect or what?!! Okay, yeah, maybe you wouldn't know, but I adore Robert Burns. I spent two hours during one Celtic Festival at the Robert Burns poetry workshop just sitting in awe. I love hearing it read. I can read it in Scots but it's so much prettier when it's not my voice. LOL And I'd never heard some of them actually set to music before. So the CD is lovely. They keep playing some of the songs from the album on the Folk Music station I listen to, so I decided I should just get the CD. It's very pretty. I listened to it for the first time in the car to and from Walmart tonight. Very pretty *sigh* I love it.

Need to get my car inspected tomorrow. Hope it goes well. I don't anticipate any problems, but it is tres used. I just don't have the money to fix anything, so I hope it passes inspection all right! I must mail copy of inspection receipt to the county for property something-or-other. Gods this is all so complicated. *sigh* And I MUST do laundry tomorrow! I will chain myself to the washers if I have to!
