"I will not buy this tobacconist. It is scratched."

I want to finish a story. *stares at the eleven stories open on the task bar right now* Ug... don't feel like working on any of them... gah... maybe I'll try the Legolas ones again... or... ug... I dunno. I want to finish them all, I just feel stuck. I hate that feeling. Wish I could write drabbles to free things up, but that always just makes it worse. And it's hard to do a timed writing when I don't have any inspiration and I just sit staring at the thing for 60 minutes. LOL

Okay, sorry, I'm in an amused and random mood. Think I'll go get something to drink and go work on the computer in the other room for a while instead.

First off, ABC's doing an encore presentation of HP1 on Saturday, for all who missed it. :-) I just watched 'A Wrinkle in Time' and they kept having commercials for that.

'A Wrinkle in Time' was very interesting. Some of the special effects were painful and long, which made them more painful, even. But it kept a lot of the parts from the book that I liked (like the beetle demonstration) and added a whole lot more that I think they added in order to make it appeal to people. From what I remember, the big final fight was nothing as complicated in the book. And I don't remember a lot about Calvin's family-related angst, but it could have been in there. I don't think I would have liked the movie half as much if I hadn't read the book first. The movie was weird and strange and confusing and way too rushed even if it was 3 hours. It was sort of the style of the book to throw things at the reader and have them figure it out... but that doesn't work as well in movie form. I don't know... I really liked the movie, even if parts were painful. They kept the spirit of the book... and Mrs. Who was wonderful! She was always my favorite :-) I don't know... it's sort of a cross between 1984, Star Trek and something really weird and random and fantastical like the Wizard of Oz.

I'd definitely recommend reading the book instead, though. Well... all except for Chris Potter *giggles* I'm sorry, I just have SUCH a hard time seeing QAF people in other roles. I mean, I've seen them completely naked! It's hard not to picture them like that. LOL But oohhhh I was REALLY looking forward to the Arctic Waste planet with the Wookies, er, beasts who look just like Wookies. Sweet yummy Chris with his broken leg (and two broken ribs he was trying to hide) in a cold, snowy land all worried about his kids... yeah... that was VERY fulfilling! So that's worth seeing the movie for. Otherwise, yeah, book's much better. More science, more logic, more tenderness.

I dunno... I sort of thought the big buildup was leading to something that was solved too quickly in the book- they added a lot in the movie. But at the same time, it's such a simple solution I don't know that it needs a huge climactic scene. So... hmmm... I don't know. Read the book. Yeah. And watch the movie for cute, cold, hurt Dr.David *G*

LMAO!!

Yes, I've got a sick mind... but I was reading the POA production notes (er, I'm on page 2 of 42, LOL) and I couldn't help but giggle at:

"What is the dark secret that Professor Snape (ALAN RICKMAN) is so eager to reveal?"
Wouldn't you like to know! You see it involves a prefect bathroom and a WHOLE lot of magical lube...

"...but what exactly is Professor Lupin’s relationship with Black?"
You had to ask? Isn't it obvious from reading the books?
Oh I could tell you ALL about his relationship with Black... how long have you got to listen?! *G*

But I must admit, as I read, now my favorite word to describe Remus is avuncular :-) Awww *snuggles* I can but hope that won't go away in the 6th book due to death or strained relationships over Sirius' death or something. Gods I love Remus...

And now I know that Sirius' really random tattoos are completely Alfonso’s idea. Yay! Someone to blame! LOL
