tarotgal: (SG1- Just one of those days)
Not that anyone actually checks it regularly... but the URL for my photoblog seems to have changed to: http://silverw.picsfolio.com/
So... yeah... jus thought I'd mention it. And post this to remind myself to go change all my URLS now *sigh*

But my headache's gone! Yay! ANd I watched an episode of QAF. And I have clothes in the dryer. SHOOT! Forgot about those! Damn I wanted to wash my hair before they were ready, too. Ah well... I got carried away as usual.

First off... Meg- I just wanted to say I am totally digging your LOST fic. I haven't given you a word of feedback about it yet as I'm so backed up... but I wanted to say I love it so far! Jack's adorable... you have the characterizations perfect... and Charlie... OHHH but I loved that!!! And Hurley. I have such love for that man *BG* But Charlie... oohhh that was a great chapter. Ah! But I love the whole thing. It's very shibby. Thank you for writing it and sharing it with us!!

Music meme gacked from Meg & Hermione:
1) Total volume of music files on my computer?
Oh gods... um... good question. *checks* I have at least 1,880 mp3s on my computer. That may not be all of them (there could be a few hiding), but I think that's the majority.

2) The last CD I bought was...
I totally don't remember. Most likely it was... no, wait, that was a gift. Umm... probably Barenaked Ladies' Everything to Everyone, even though that was, like, a year ago. I don't really buy a lot of CD's. Never have. I used to buy one or two a year even before the internet.

3a) The last song I listened to before writing this was...
Um... does 'Sexy Boy' (by, I think, The Kinky Boyz) at the end of the Queer as Folk episode I just watched count? Because it's the last song I can remember hearing.

3b) Song playing right now:
Nothing. It's silent apart from the tapping of keyboard keys.

4) Five songs I listen to a lot or that mean a lot to me.
Oohhh! This is easy *pulls out my favorite happy songs CD*
1. Affirmation by Savage Garden- my all-time favorite song now. I love every single bit of it from each and every lyric to the beats. Before I started listening to the LotR tapes in the car, I listened to this song twice a day without fail on the way to work and back. Made me feel SO happy and comforted and like D&D were just pulling my thoughts out and putting them to music. Of course the fact that I fell in love to it because of that QAF fanvid helps a lot.
2. Whiskey for my Men, Beer for My Horses by Toby Keith & Willie Nelson. By the same token, right after Affirmation on the CD was this song. And it's also because of my love for a QAF fanvid set to it. I really dislike country (apart from about 10 songs I fell in love with during my 7th grade country music phase that lasted a few months) but I love Willie and this song is so fantastic and got me through dreaded election day last November. Just like Affirmation, I listen to it twice a day at least... at top volume... singing at the top of my lungs even though I can't hit a single note in this song- LOL! I also have very amusing hand gestures/motions that go along with some of the parts of this song that I've gotten in the habit of doing whenever I listen to it, so that makes it really fun. But, yeah, it's all because of the fanvid.
3. All You Can Know by Steve McDonald- I adore this song so very, very much. It's hard for me to pick my favorite Steve McDonald song, but I think this is it. At the very least it's tied for first with 3 or 4 others. It says a lot of things I think are so very true and touches me very deeply just by its sound and music alone.
4. Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy by Queen- I love Queen and have for the LONGEST time (well, at least since their music was used in Highlander) and I always love listening to their songs. This one- thanks to it being on an episode of QAF- has resurfaced on my playlist a lot more than usual. It's the Englishness of some of the lines... and the sexualness as well... and the fact that when I shout-sing it I can actually hit most of the notes! So I'm putting this on my list not because it's one of my absolute favorites, but it's a song I've listened to a hell of a lot lately.
5. Dust in the Wind by Kansas- Not one that I listen to a lot, but one that means a lot to me. I cannot listen to this song without crying, thanks to Highlander using it at a very emotional point early in the series. But it is also the song the planetarium guy at my high school used to close every show, and the song that made me strike up a conversation with a lad from high school who became like a son to me. So it has a lot of emotional significance.

And since I already have a playlist of almost all the songs on my computer put together... this is gacked from Aimee *sends her warm fuzzies right now*
Put your playlist on shuffle. Pick the first 10 songs that come up and add "in my pants".
1. Marvin Gaye- "Sexual healing in my pants" (yeah, too easy)
2. Aladdin- "A whole new world in my pants" (sounds like the title of a sick porn PWP I'd write)
3. RENT- "Goodbye love in my pants" (LOL!)
4. Presidents of the USA- "Cleveland rocks in my pants"
5. Mr. Mister- "Kyrie in my pants" (oh, that's just WRONG!)
6. Enya- "May it be in my pants" (LMAO! I think this is my favorite!)
7. Muppets- "Caribbean amphibian in my pants" (Ew! LOL)
8. Wolf's Rain- "Run, Wolf Warrior, run in my pants"
9. Stephen Lynch- "Priest in my pants" (Strangely, this is LESS sexual and dirty than the original song! Which, incidentally, is about sex with alter boys)
10. Limeliters- "Whiskey in the jar in my pants" (I find this one especially amusing for some reason)
Wow... this is like adding "in bed" to fortune cookies. It always seems to work... and have I ever mentioned I have very odd musical tastes?

tarotgal: (Clearly excited)
Since I had the playlist up... I did another shuffle and I'm doing that pick out lines, have people guess the songs thing again. So... yeah, enjoy! (And no cheating!)
Though first I must mention that the one movie y'all didn't get when I did the movie quote thing was Brigadoon. Not that I'm surprised no one got it: "I've found that sometimes the things you believe in are more real to you than all the things you can explain away or understand"- Brigadoon- I picked this because my Grandma and Grandpa (yes, the one who just died) gave this to me for Christmas right after my obsession with Scotland began. I adore this musical. Van Johnson amazes me. The humor is subtle and adorable. The accents are horrid but kind of cute-funny. And there are nice little bits about life, faith, love, and loyalty that get me every time. Set anything in Scotland and I'll love it, but this was especially special to me.

Okay... now, on to the music. I had to discount several because they were classical pieces, and another because it was Whiskey in the Jar and I just mentioned that in my post a few minutes ago.
So here's my favorite parts of the 20 songs. Guess title and artist (for the ones that have but one artist, at least) and I'll cross it off & put your name up. You know the drill:
  1. "Breathe into my hands or cup them like a glass to drink from"

  2. "If she had to she would put herself in my chair even though I faced electrocution. She always says I'm the best friend that she's ever had. How do you hang up on someone who needs you that bad?"

  3. "I can find a lover. I can find a friend. I can have security until the bitter end. Anyone can comfort me with promises again."

  4. "Now there's the Captain, he's our commander, (well that stands to reason, doesn't it?), there's the bosun and all of the crew, too, there's the first and second class passengers, only know what we poor convicts go through. Singing too-ra-li oo-ra-li ad-dy"laughing_newt got Botany Bay (if she's around, GWT might be able to guess the artist?)

  5. "Anyone can see the road that they walk on is paved in gold. And it's always summer, they'll never get cold." laughing_newt got The Way by Fastball

  6. "Marconi plays the mamba, listen to the radio, don't you remember" [livejournal.com profile] f_butterfly got We Built This City on Rock and Roll

  7. "If I should buy jelly beans, have to eat them all in just one sitting. Everything it seems I like's a little bit sweeter, a little bit fatter, a little bit harmful for me"

  8. "Let's decorate a surf board with geometric shapes and lines. We can use a few polygons. We can make it look so fine"

  9. "You're so excited, I can feel you getting hotter, oh baby. I'll take you down, I'll take you down where no one's ever gone before. And if you want more, if you want more, more, more..." [Note: I couldn't use my favorite lines because they contain the name of the song] [livejournal.com profile] f_butterfly got Jump for my Love

  10. "I just like the things you do. Don't you change the things you do. Only time can tell if we get on well."

  11. "Are those sweet, gentle pleasures gone for good? Shall a feud not begin for me? Shall kith not kill their kin for me?" [livejournal.com profile] f_butterfly got Simple Joys of Maidenhood from the musical Camelot (gods, I love that last line I quoted there... yum- sounds so pretty)

  12. "Gonna let it rock, let it roll. Let the bible belt come and save my soul. Hold on to 16 as long as you can. Changes come around real soon, make us women and men." [livejournal.com profile] f_butterfly got Jack & Diane by John Cougar Mellencamp

  13. "I'd rock you till the daylight comes, make sure you are smiling and warm. I am everything. Tonight I'll be your mother. I'll do such things to ease your pain, free your mind and you won't feel ashamed" [livejournal.com profile] rainbowbluebird got Damn, I wish I was your Lover

  14. "I'd like to turn off time and kill my mind. You kill my mind. Paranoia paranoia everybody's coming to get me"

  15. "We were in the Badlands one day chasing B'elanna and Chakotay. We were whisked into the Delta Quadrant. Fuck, that's far away!"

  16. "Because I have fallen in love with you, no never have, I'm never gonna stop falling in love, with you. Close the door, lay down upon the floor and by candlelight, make love to me through the night" [Note- LIE down! *grrr*] RC got Runaway by The Corrs

  17. "I was hungry now I'm not. Because I ate some beans and grapes... The stars are twinkling in the sky. There's no hot water in my hotel."

  18. "Holy Lady, show me my soul, tell me of that place where I must surely go. Old man waiting at the gates for me, give me the wisdom, give me the key."

  19. "Ireland, Scotland, Britain, and Wales. I can hear those ancient voices calling 'Children, children, children'"

  20. "Pictures torn out of their frames and orgies where we lost our names. All were gone with time's real desire. Well, you ask how God can curse you thus. That's not a question asked by us. We burned our beds and books. We fear we've lost the fire."

Okay... yeah... I have STRANGE songs on my computer, I must say. Some of these should be fairly easy... and others are REALLY out there strange. Should prove for amusement, though. And it's interesting how many needy h/c type songs turned up in this random sweep...

EDIT: Okay, when I said "fairly easy" I think I meant it would be fairly easy if you were me. Because after reading through these, I'm going to be astounded if people can get even a few of these. Sorry about that. Yeah... weird tastes, I have. But... yeah... think just like me and it should be easier. LOL
