Words, words, glorious words

This week's questions from thefridayfive:

1) What word irks you everytime you hear someone say it?
Many things that are grammatically incorrect bug the heck out of me... like when people say Anyways or mix-up I and me. But what pisses me off the most is when people say Lay when they should say Lie. It really annoys me. Sometimes when I see it in fics I don't give feedback specifically because I'm too anoyed by it! Which is probably a good thing, as my feedback would probably consist of "You idiot! He's lying down not laying an egg!" $%^&*#
I also hate when people use "How are you doing?" as a greeting instead of as a question. If you don't actually care how a person is doing, don't freaking ask them! Just say hello!

2) What is your favorite word?
thefridayfive has asked this before, and I cannot recall giving a good answer then, either. I feel that I really should have a word that I love more than all others... but I cannot think of one/decide on one.

3) What does it mean?

4) What word do you say far too often?
I think it's a toss-up between Sorry, Fuck, and Shite. Wait, can you have a toss-up when three things are involved? Hmm. I don't know. Hope using 'toss-up' incorrectly doesn't irk any of you out there! ;-)

Giftfics

I'm really behind in e-mail and LJ replies because I've been writing... but as this has come up a few times I just want to quickly give a blanket statement about gifts people are giving me:
I seriously don't mind if I get a gift after Christmas. As some of you already know, I adore late gifts because it means extending the holidays even longer. How neat is it to think you have seen all your presents and then, days later when you least expect it, you have another?! I LOVE that feeling. So if you're planning on giving me something and it's not done, pleasepleaseplease don't sweat it. Take your time. I love late presents. There's always New Year's. HECK, there's always my birthday! *giggle* So please don't worry about it, either. Everyone keeps telling me not to stress... so I want to tell you all the same thing. I want your creation process to be fun as well, not forced or stressful. *HUGS* Thank you for thinking of me, and take your time if you need it.
