tarotgal: (Writing- heartbeat)
Just about two days until the annual challenge fics are due- how is everyone out there doing on their fics?

I'm nearly finished with my final Challenge piece. I had hoped to have it done Friday before going to sleep, but 3am is closing in and I'm getting sleepy. It's very close to being completed, though. Just another page or two at the most- I want to get the wording just right as I've had the idea for this fic for at least a year now.

Then I will be turning my attention to GWT's holiday giftfic. Only bits and pieces are written at the moment but I do hope filling in scenes will be easy, and I have the majority worked out in my head. It's just a matter of writing it well :-)

We're supposed to get over a foot of snow tomorrow. I'm soooooooooooooooooo excited. Apart from one day where we had a light dusting and some ice, we haven't had snow yet this winter and I luuuuuuuuuuuurve snow. Soooo romantic and inspiring. The desk/computer in my new room is just a yard and a half or so from the large glass sliding door here. So I plan to pull the blinds open and watch the snow fall all day. Can't imagine a nicer atmosphere for writing! So excited!!! Sleepy, but excited :-)

Grrr!

It's barely raining out (the rain is sort of like snowflakes but it's coming down as rain) and everyone here is freaking out. People started driving like madmen yesterday and today, coming out of the library, someone ran into my car. I was backing out and so was she and I was about to turn the wheel to straighten out and go on my way when CRUNCH. Grrr! First time it's ever happened to me. It's a small dent and a few scratches only. We exchanged info just in case.

My father just flipped out when I told him about it. *rolls eyes* But I'm okay and it's not like the car is totaled. You don't even see the dent at first glance. But grrrr! Not happy. I'm going to wait for my mother to get home to tell me what to do about it. She's much more reasonable. But I think this is a sign I should have just stayed home today. *sigh*

~Andre Maurois

I thought this was an appropriate quote to come upon on the day before the Love Challenge due date, no?
