Blah. I've kind of been out of it for a few days now. Haven't felt like writing at all until today. I've been kind of sneezing a whole lot as well and feeling a little blah but not really more than usual so I don't think I'm sick but who knows *shrug* I've been slacking on Friday Fives as well LOL I dunno what's up with me. Feeling apathetic or something.
Anyhoo... I'm going to the Capitals vs. Islanders game tonight! We're using the free tickets I got for going and trying to donate blood. So that should be loads of fun. I'm worried about Jamie who got killed last game with a boarding check that the refs decided not to call. Our team always loses without him and no one's releasing updates about him so I'm really scared that he's hurt badly. And we're probably going to lose because the Caps are so depressed after their last two losses but I hope they still work hard tonight. It would really rock to see them win.
I watched all of the Oscars. John did an amazing job, and I loved the montages. I wish Brokeback had won for best picture but I really loved Crash (I think it should be required viewing for everyone) so I can't really complain. And the awards were spread out a lot, which is really nice (with the exception of Munich which didn't win anything so far as I remember). I told everyone I'd be happy with any outcome so long as Brokeback won for directing, which it did. And then music (which I was very glad about as I tear up whenever I hear the main theme) and screenplay (which I am also incredibly glad about now that I own the screenplay and original short story). So I was happy with the outcome and the show in general. The jokes were great and the whole thing was very entertaining. I really like how deeper, thoughtful movies with fewer special effects and all are back in vogue. I love character-driven movies so this was definitely a good collection this year. *golf claps* I approve.
Think I'll try to write a little more before bed. I just started a short ficlet based on
silverelf's gift to me for the holidays, which I love MUCHLY. Thank you silverelf, and thank you Tina for pointing me to it, because I haven't read my flist in way too long. Everyone, go look at the numminess that is Remus Lupin!
