tarotgal: (Fozzie- OMG!)
Had a good day today, all things considered.

Had a rough night last night. Don't know if it was the bed or what, but I woke up a little after 6 with major painful stomach problems. Took some Pepto and ate some crackers and sat on the couch. I nodded off, sitting up, and woke up just as Spike was taking his "shot of courage" in the last Angel episode. I stayed awake, eating, until after Spike's poetry. Then I went back to bed feeling a little better. I slept through Wes and woke up at the very last line of the show. Then I went back to sleep. It was a bumpy night, though.

Woke up and started drinking (ah, not alcohol, LOL). I intended to give blood today- it was a day off work today- and felt perfectly fine. Then I got an e-mail from the employer saying they wanted to set up an interview with me! Yippie!!!! He and I played telephone tag all day, but I've got an interview Monday- which is fortunate because my current boss is out of town that day and so I don't have to ask for the day off. If I get the job I don't know how I'm going to break it to him. *worries* But at least I made it this far in the process! It's nice to get an interview :-) So that was much happy-making!

Then I found the checks I deposited Friday finally made it into my bank account and I paid all my bills including paying off my car loan!!! So now I own my car completely!! And I can put the money towards rent and my student loan now. But YAY!!! I'm very very excited about that.

Then I tried to give blood. It was not a good experience. First, my heartrate was too fast. The second time they took it, it was okay. The wait time was horrible, but I brought a book so frankly I was glad for the reading time. LOL I requested my usual left arm and warned the technician that she had to go down a lot deeper than it appeared. She did not listen. She stuck me once, twice, then gave up. WTF? I've had people try for five minutes before giving up! LOL I suggested the other arm and she tried it, also. I told her she wasn't going in deep enough. So she went in again, very VERY shallow. She hit something but not the one she'd been aiming for. I barely bled (because it wasn't in, damnit!) and she gave up instead of trying again to hit it. Grrr. So she takes it out and goes all crazy because it gave me a bruise. LMAO I'm SO fucking accident-prone. I get bruises every day. But she was all "OMG here's a cold pack!" So I had to sit there with it on for a while, not being able to give any blood. Phooey!! She didn't even try, compared to most people. And then she gives me this whole speech about how I was the hardest person she'd ever had! Harumph!

On my way out of the library, I checked the used books and they had a copy of Ishmael for sale. It's possibly my favorite book ever. So I bought it for BookCrossing. I think I might do something special with it on my BC anniversary this year. Oh, and this library (my old library, before the move) is having its HUGE book sale this Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I'm definitely going Sunday if they have their brown bag sale thing. But I will probably stop in the other days as well cuz I'm a geek like that. LOL

Anyway... the whole interview setup and car loan payoff really made my day. Plus I got some more writing done. I should have this Strokes story done in a day or so easily... but I can't share it until I finish six or 7 others that come before it. Also, with the possible exception of the Ducky Valentine's Day fic, every single story set in 2006 is really... dark and depressing. I need to come up with some happier plotlines to pad the year out or it's going to be an incredibly depressing turn of events for all the Strokes boys. Of course, I have to finish up the 2004 and 2005 stories first :-)

Bloody awful game. Not surprising since they lost Rolly but bloody awful just the same.

*is sad*
