Jul. 1st, 2006 01:32 pmWoke up way too early for a Saturday. LOL But I had to run errands and such and then I was going to go to work- but when I called, Boss (old boss) didn't need me in. So yay! Might do belated Father's Day stuff with Dad tonight... or we might wait until next week.
I went to the bank and stood in line for 20 minutes... I've got a $2.50 "Cash Advance Charge" on my account for 6/22 and NO idea where it came from. So they're going to look into it for me. And I deposited money to cover my car insurance bill. So I should be able to hold out with paychecks from dogsitting and my old job until I get my first paycheck from my new job.
Then I went to the library and they'd restocked the sale shelf with new books! So I walked out of there with FIFTEEN new-to-me books... for $1.50 (how can you beat that?). Everything from some books I'll be BCing with to The No.1 Ladies' Detective Agency to 3 Star Trek: TNG novels to 3 (kids) Dinatopia books! Happy!
Then I went to the dollar store across town to get a picture frame for my new office... and I walked out with one sheet each of Star Wars Episode I Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon stickers! And I needed one of those clip-on keychains for my keys for work and there were a few to choose from... I selected one and was going to check out when I saw a slightly smaller one in a package that said "Hockey Key Chain". It has a little strap hanging from it that says "hockey rules" and has a puck and two crossed hockey sticks on it. So of course I had to get that one! It's a prettier color, anyway.
So I had a productive morning! All that for $5.50 and I'm worlds of happy. I like muchly.
I also heard it through the grapevine that today is International Slash Day? If I have time I'm definitely going to have to write a drabble or two to celebrate. If I can come up with something to write... if not, the stickers will have to be my celebration. heehee
