Fall Shows
Nov. 12th, 2007 01:31 amBetter late than never, I guess, but here's what I'm watching this fall:
- The Amazine Race- My favorite reality show, easily. A great mix of teams this year, though my favorite teams keep getting eliminated :-(
- The Big Bang Theory- I don't know how I feel about this show. I love seeing JG back on TV, and I love the geek humor... however, so much of it seems to be making fun of geeks and insulting us, so it's kind of hard to take. The actress was never my favorite in Charmed and she's even more annoying in this show. The best part is DEFINITELY the Barenaked Ladies' theme song. I even bought it on iTunes and listened to it 100 times to learn the lyrics by heart
- Blood Ties (recorded- need to catch up first)- I had to restart watching the whole series because I missed so many in season 1, but I'm taping season 2 so I'm prepared when I'm caught up. I really love the show, though, as unoriginal as the idea is. The characters are excellent.
- Bones- I really enjoy this show still. They manage to move the characters forward just enough to keep our interest but not make it a soap opera. Booth and Bones are fantastic, and who doesn't love David? I especially appreciated the Pony Boys episode this season *G*
- Boston Legal- Oh I NEVER miss an episode! I'm kind of annoyed by the changing cast because I loved casts from previous seasons. However, English chica is brilliant (Brilliant!) and John joining the cast was an extra special form of spectacular. It's still got its same mix of utterly insane, moral quandries, and sweetness. Sleep over?
- Brothers & Sisters- I still really enjoy this show and it's all because of the characters. I really care about all of them and love seeing how far they can fall and still pick themselves up again. It's kind of a feel-good train wreck.
- Carpoolers- I gave this a chance. I really liked the first episode (mmm, Jerry) and laughed out loud several times during it and the second episode. However, it's on against NCIS and Bones so it really has no chance. If it were in a different time slot, no question. But it's a guy's show and didn't win out with me.
- Cavemen- Same problem with the time slot. I really like it and I'm taping it upstairs, but I'm not thrilled enough by it to kick my other two shows off in favor of it. I don't think it's as stupid as most people do. I think it's kind of funny, really. I've always loved the Geico commercials and I think it's clever at times.
- Chuck- I'm taping this upstairs, too, so I've only seen episode 1. I really liked it, though. I laughed several times and I was worried for Chuck many times. My boss' son works in the Best Buy Geek Squad so it kind of hits home for me. Plus that nerd factor is great to see. Plus Adam Baldwin ROCKS!
- Curb Your Enthusiasm- I'm way behind on this one, but I can get it from On Demand. The first couple episodes were awful-funny!
- Desperate Housewives- It's another great season. My favorite has been seeing Kevin Rahm again (love the gay couple, LOL)! I LOVED him in Judging Amy. It's pretty impressive how much they can still do with this show and with these characters!
- Dirty, Sexy Money- I started watching this because of Peter and I'm continuing to watch because it's kind of fascinating watching this fake famous family go down in flames.
- ER- So far, it's been a tough season for just about everyone, but I still love the show and watch every episode. After last week, I'm glad Luca will be back next week.
- Heroes- It's okay that season 2 isn't as good as season 1... it's still better than just about every show out there! I love Mohindir and Matt moving in together to look after Molly. I LOVE Nathan and Peter being alive. I love the chica from Dinatopia showing up. I love the new characters and new possibilities. Okay, so the virus is overdone in comics, but it still makes sense. I'm really loving everything.
- How I Met Your Mother- Still amazes me at being one of my very favorite shows on TV right now. It always makes me laugh out loud. I adore the characters and the writing.
- Journeyman- Well, time travel, I obviously couldn't miss this one. I like the balance of personal life and time travelling duties. The "must help people" part of it is also over-done (can you say Quantum Leap?) but I still enjoy the show so far and all its mysteries.
- Kid Nation- It's not bad, but I really wish they were just let alone. You've got the host in there all the time and the book and producers coming up with themes and showdowns every week. I guess you have to because they're kids but still it's not as amazing an experience as it claimed to be. I still watch it to see how the kids handle things, though.
- Moonlight- ANOTHER do-gooder vampire show. But, hey, it's a do-gooder vampire so I still watch. I like the complicated relationships and there are a few neat moments every episode. I like Mick a lot and I sort of enjoy the redefining vampire myths- guess it makes it easier to film, too.
- NCIS- Possibly my very favorite show on TV! I LOVE the characters, even though they keep scaring me this season! Fantastic episodes, though. Really wonderful. Happy 100 NCIS!
- Numb3rs- Colby killed me dead at the end of last season and beginning of this one. Larry's a hoot (I just about died laughing at the end of last Friday's episode). I like where all the characters are and the cases are still creative and great, even though they seem to be bending things a little at times on the math/metaphor fronts.
- Prison Break- I still love the show, but it's dirty this season. I mean, dirty as in they're in an AWFUL place where they're all sweaty and muddy and icky... which is much less sexy. But it's still shocking and violent and beautiful and emotional. And they're my boys- I've GOT to find out what happens to them!
- Pushing Daisies- OMG OMG OMG. Definitely my favorite new show this season! JIM DALE! I mean, come on! It's clever and original in presentation and just plain GORGEOUS. I can't get enough of this show. Every time I finish an episode I just want more! Seriously, I can't say enough about this show. I absolutely love everything about it.
- Survivor- My second favorite reality show. I've enjoyed the twists and lots of the players... even though there are a good number I don't like (and that's so skinny it's painful to watch). It's certainly neat to see a show filmed entirely in China and I've like that flavor that's been in the challenges/rewards.
- Tell Me You Love Me- I watched one episode and stopped. I couldn't get into it. The characters were confusing and I kept mixing them up.
- Torchwood- Okay, when I said Pushing Dasies was my favorite new show, I totally lied. Torchwood is my new favorite obsession! Makes me wish I'd seen more of Dr. Who, but I'll get the DVDs and catch up. All of the characters are SO freakin incredible and the plots and fantastic and the sex- well it IS the creator of Queer as Folk! The humor and humanity and supernatural and cleverness and beauty and AH! I just ADORE this show sooooooooooo much! It's got everything... and stopwatches ;-)
