First day of house/dog/cat sitting for parents? Exhausting disaster. Was up at 6, walked dog & fed cats (lots went wrong but I don't have the energy to rant), was too tired to do more than eat breakfast before work, worked 8 and a half hours, volunteered at library for 2 hours, came home and walked dog, ate dinner at 8:30, played with dog, checked e-mail, took dog out at 10, fed cats, did dishes, cleaned counters, cleaned litterboxes, changed water dishes, took out trash and recycling, played with cats. Ugh.
And my sister's out seeing Batman. Gods, I'm envious. *depressed sigh* Damn me for being responsible! She said she'd do the trash and clean the kitchen counters, but she won't be getting home until 3 at the earliest and knowing her and the fact that pigs don't fly, that isn't going to happen.
But good news- I scheduled in an escape so I can see the movie on Saturday after I volunteer.
BookCrossing went crazy today. Lots of bad stuff went down, but management has it under control and the masses are somewhat calm once more.
I just found out Prince Caspian WILL be shown at the little theater across from where I work starting today! Squee! I'm totally going at least once... probably two more times. Tickets are, like, $4.
JumpCons were cancelled. Thank GOODNESS I hadn't purchased my tickets yet. Yay for procrastination! I'm sad about not getting to meet Adrian (and Peter, though I've met him before) but I'm more sad about the situation and the crap the fans and actors who committed to the cons are going through now.

And speaking of HP, my meetup's having a Harry Potter birthday party next weekend. Squee! I'm making cupcakes and making a trivia/pictionary game. And I bought gold and red streamers and plates and cups and Harry Potter banners and napkins and we're going to try to play Quidditch! OMG I'm such an elvendork! (It's a good name. It's unisex).
Oh, and I got the first two Sharpe movies out of the library today! Each of the library branches has about, oh, 20 fiction/drama movies, and that collection includes the Sharpe movies I've been dying to see properly. I taped a few episodes when they were on TV but missed some. So yay! Sean Bean goodness!
So... exhausting day but happy in the end.
OH! And Dr. Horrible! I'm totally in love. The second part was good, but I adore the first part. I cannot WAIT for part 3!!! Bwahahahaha! (practicing my evil laugh) I've had the songs stuck in my head for days now. I totally love it. Must have more Dr. Horrible usericons.
Ah. And my Neville fic due Sunday is in terrible shape. I must write like the wind tomorrow, tired or not!
