Good and bad today...
Lots of rain but the storm that came with the hurricane wasn't too bad. Ended just before it was my shift to go out and walk the dog, so that's good.
I'm way behind in writing. SO screwed about the R/S FQF fic I'm supposed to be writing. Gonna work on Lady K's fic for Sept 10 (most of it was written in my head tonight) and then concentrate on Remus & Sirius. Hopefully will have enough time to get it finished and betaed before the deadline but my timetable's already screwed up.
Sister acted all bitchy tonight and I'm sure I wasn't pleasant either but I was the big one to go up to her room and apologize and forced her to talk to me. We ended up trying to work things out for about an hour and it ended really well. She actually said she loves me, which I don't think I've heard her say since she was, like, 2 or something. Maybe not even then. Kinda hard for me to believe but it's sort of sinking in now and it feels nice in a wonderful, unexpected way. I'm going to work on the things I promised to work on but I hope to GOD she works on the things I FINALLY got her to admit she needs to work on. Ow, my eyes hurt from crying. Kinda not in the mood to write now... but I really have to get these fics done!
Parents drove up to PA to my cousin's wedding this morning. They took Jill with them so I'm stuck tomorrow when trying to get to Alexandria for my BookCrossing meeting. I think I'm going to try taking the Metro and then find a bus that runs to the place... kinda worried about that part of the plan. Eeep! Plan B is borrowing sister's GPS. Might do that. Will decide tomorrow. But I might do the Metro in the end. Ugh. I hate travelling places I've never been before!
I watched Persepolis tonight. Friggin LOVED the heck out of that movie!
I watched In the Land of Women tonight, too. Liked it a lot. Adam was great, and he was the whole reason for me watching. So yay.
I WANTED to watch Season 2 of Dexter but instead of disc 1 Blockbuster Online sent me disc 1 of Season 1 of Heroes. Um... not close. Plus I already own that on DVD so... not useful at all! But I have Venus that DID make it through to me properly. And I have a Brother Cadfel mystery on DVD that I rented from the library (unlike some of you, my library's fictional movie selection consists of fewer than 20 titles- mainly LOTR, HP, and old versions of movies they made based off classic books. Not really much to choose from. There are only so many times I can watch Ioan in Great Expectations, you know?).
Oh, and I bought 3 previously-viewed DVDs for $20 at Blockbuster when I was there. I got: Stardust, Waitress, and the Golden Compass. I was thinking about Spiderwick and the Seeker... I liked 'em both both I don't really think I'd watch Spiderwick again and the Seeker was just because CE's in it so I might have watched that again but not with the same sort of regularness one would need. Still, a $35 value for only $20 isn't bad.
Also, I signed up for a course at the 2008 Muse Online Writing Convention. I'm debating signing up for a second, but I'm not sure I can handle the workload of two courses in one week. I'll keep thinking. But the workshop I signed up for is called "Writing Sex". heehee! Yes, I know I do that already. But it doesn't hurt to get some feedback from a professional. Especially if I ever actually want to have any of my crap published and read one day.
