Harry Potter FUN!
Oct. 24th, 2009 12:04 pmSeeing HBP a third time in theaters Thursday was awesome. Met a new DADA member who is coming to the meetup today. I already made her a mix CD of WRock. heehee This time, I didn't jump out of my skin at the inferia... but I did cry when Dumbledore died and when they all raise their wands. That gets me every time.
Yesterday I went to see Melissa Anelli, author of Harry: a History. I already had her sign my copy of the book, but I bought another copy for an upcoming BookCrossing auction or the BookCrossing convention as a prize. Melissa gave a nice talk, and I'm glad it wasn't just a signing.
Before going to see the talk, I signed up and participated in the Harry Potter Alliance's WRock for Equality event, helping at callforquality.org to encourage people to vote NO on Question 1 in Maine. I made phone calls to Maine for an entire hour yesterday. Made me feel really good. I have a phone phobia so I was terrible nervous the whole time, but I actually did really well and only had a few people who were voting yes. (Booooo!) Vote No on 1!
I had to volunteer at the library this morning so I missed the concert, and I have a party tonight so I'll miss the other concert. But I'm going to try to make a few more phone calls today.

Live stream (chat & second concert at 5pm EST): http://www.livestream.com/pottercast
Call for Quality: http://callforequality.org/
If you care about marriage equality, sign up and make some phone calls through the system. Huff Huff Hufflepuff!
Now I'm wolfing down lunch and then going to carve my pumpkin for the party I have to leave to go to in 4.5 hours. Meep! Should be fun though-- the Harry Potter Halloween party always is. I have a small prize for the best pumpkin. And I'm bringing drinks and snacks. We're watching We Are Wizards (which I already own on DVD) and possibly playing games. Oh, and I'm bringing my Harry Potter coloring books that have been around the country and back so more pages can be colored in. Yeah. It's going to be fun tonight! Yay for Harry Potter fun!
