Did I scare you? No? Ah well. Maybe next time.
Big news: I hit 30,000 words tonight for NaNoWriMo! I got caught up today and then stormed full speed ahead. With any luck, now that I've come up for air, I'll stay ahead of the count for the rest of the month. With a LOT of luck, I just might be able to finish this novel. It's VERY badly written, but I'm having fun with it. How could I not? It's got: fireworks, 2 separate road trips halfway across county, internet chats, a My Little Pony, indie bands with names like The Death Swallows, annoying families, a library located beside a giant waterfall, a studious rubber duckie, historical markers, first kisses, and a giantic rainbow. I'm fighting (and losing the fight) the urge to have one of my main character's friends come down with something while on the road trip. *EG*
Last week was BUSY! I work full days and after work:
Monday- volunteer at library
Tuesday- saw Julie & Julia with friends/group
Wednesday- write-in at a coffee shop from 6-10pm
Thursday- Harry Potter fanfic discussion-- which I organized and LED!
Friday- write-in at a Panera from 5-10pm
Saturday- volunteer at library from 9am-12pm then BookCrossing meetup in Maryland in the afternoon (I snarfed a few things on the way there and the way home)
Sunday- write-in at Borders from 2-6pm
*exhausted*
This week has so far been a lot more relaxing:
Monday- volunteer at library
Tuesday- ahhhhh. Just relax and write while watching the Caps game
Wednesday- Writers' Roundtable meeting 6-8pm
Thursday- again, NOTHING except getting to eat dinner and watch tv and write at home
Friday- write-in at Panera from 6-10pm
Saturday- volunteer at library from 9am-12pm and then Harry Potter meetup- we're learning how to make bracelets out of chain maille in our house colors!
Sunday- write-in at Borders from 2-?
So two whole nights of nice time to do whatever the heck I want this week. Or, well, we're down to one left, but that's still cool. And tomorrow will mean getting home before 9, even after I go grocery shopping after the meeting.
Let's see... everyone should totally follow my music blog
mysoundsofmusic I got a new CD yesterday and, with luck, I'll have some time to post about it tonight.
Every time something awesome happens in my life, I make a mental note to mention it here, and then I forget to post because I'm trying to write for NaNoWriMo instead. Oh, speaking of which, I owe you all, like, a huge penalty drabble when November is over.
Oh, the new Twilight movie. I was supposed to go with friends on Tuesday to see the movie (free passes, heck yeah!). But they've changed their plans to Monday and now I won't be able to go see it with them. Phoey! Maybe it's just as well. My naughty thoughts regarding Jacob have been cut short once a friend pointed out to me that the actor is not yet 18. Ugh. Pervy is good for my Remus, but not so much for me. Bad, sexy, shirtless wolf boy, tempting us old ladies! *shudder*
