I spent moneys
Dec. 3rd, 2009 11:27 pmI got home today to find, like, a gazillion packages waiting for me.
Yesterday my Cyber Monday purchase from Think Geek arrived. I bought: the Brick Construction shirt (wearable LEGO? Yes please), the Knights Who (until recently) Say Ni shirt, and the What Happens in the Holodeck Stays in the Holodeck shirt. I haven't tried on the Brick Construction shirt yet but the other two fit beautifully. And I got $10 off the purchase.
3 Catchlove CDs arrived today: <3, It's Still Snowing, and Where Do We Go From Here? I haven't listened to much Catchlove music but they were each $5 on sale over the weekend and I almost bought them from iTunes a few weeks ago at $10 each (if something I really want already goes on sale, I give myself permission to buy it). I wasn't planning on buying It's Still Snowing but I was in the Christmas music mood and I like the two versions of the songs from both Jingle Spells CDs. Unfortunately, this means that I'll have to stop listening to the Tonks and the Aurors CD I've been attached to for the past few days. Package from Amazon.com containing: Trick on DVD (I've watched the movie, um, probably 20-something times. And the BEST scene is cut out of the TV version so it was on sale for just a few dollars. Kind of a no-brainer to buy it), Fanboys on DVD (I borrowed a copy from my co-worker and enjoyed it. I wanted to watch the commentary but had to give it back. Now I own it and can watch all I want), Stargate Continuum (haven't seen it. Haven't caught up to it yet. But now I own it), Torchwood: Something in the Water (slowly, I will acquire all the Torchwood books). On Tuesday I got Prison Break Season 4 on DVD (it was a Black Friday deal; it was on my wish list and I saved $35 on it).
2 packages from FamilyVideo. One DVD of all 4 Matrix movies together (was $9.99). I'd just about pay that for the first movie. But all 4? Awesome. And to all you haters of the Animatrix... sorry, but I LOVE the concept and there are a few of the pieces I LOVED so it was totally worth it. The other package was Monk Season 4. I bought Seasons 1-5 on Friday and Saturday. I'm planning to give Season 1 to my family for Christmas. And then Season 2 to my dad for his birthday. And Season 3 to my mom for her birthday/mother's day. Season 4 to dad for father's day. You get the picture. So the gifts will last me a while and then we'll have a complete set.
On Saturday I also got the complete collector's set of Faerie Tale Theater (comes with a card game and a book as well). That was an amazing series and I'm thrilled to have the whole thing now (for only $27)
Today I got a package of something that is absolutely a guilty pleasure. I thought about the purchase for a week or two. But I broke down on Monday when the WB store had free shipping. I bought the Noble Collection's versions of Remus Lupin's wand and Sirius Black's wand. Yep. So I have my AWESOME willow wand that my Kindred Spirit bought me, and now I have my two favorite puppies' wands. I asked my family for a 3-wand holder for Christmas (so none of you get me one!) and now I just have to find a place to display them. I wasn't sure I'd made the right choice in ordering them because what do I need display pieces for? But when I opened up the boxes tonight after my DADA meeting and held them in my hand all of my wishy-washy-ness and possible regrets flew right out of my head. Totally worth it. I love them in a way I didn't expect to.
And now I'm broke. LOL
