Awwwww crap.
Sep. 14th, 2011 01:39 amAw, crap. Someone's running an h/c bigbang.
I'm no good at writing long stories. So why am I so tempted by this?
Though NaNoWriMo is coming up. I could totally fold this into that.
Or I could transform my NCIS fic or Snarry fic into this (actually, the Snarry one might be more than 10k already, so that wouldn't qualify).
Damn it.
The prospect of art is pretty awesome, too.

I don't know if I can watch any more Stargate Atlantis. It broke my heart tonight. I am mad at it. *crosses arms over chest and pouts in its general direction*

Nerd Humor
Sep. 14th, 2011 06:02 pmToday I was toying with the idea of teaching myself Objective-C. I used to know C++ better than English, but I've been out of practice. How much harder could it be for me to learn Objective-C?
Anyway, I was reading discussion today regarding the two different programming languages and this made me laugh:
Male Programmer: Oh come on, we all know the vast majority of programmers are males.
The author is clearly trying to get a message across.
If I was writing an article about construction, I would use "he"; if I were writing about shopping, I'd use "she".
Female Programmer: Really? That's news to me. At every company I have ever worked, female developers have slightly outnumbered male developers. The ratio is roughly 1:1. I think you may be using an out-of-date version of reality. Try fetching the latest version from your distro's repos. I'm pretty sure sexism was deprecated in the '60s.
Okay, so maybe it's programming humor, but I cracked up. I want to make "out-of-date version of reality" my new phrase. Not as catchy as "french the llama" but it might make it.
