Sandy & a Comment Meme

I went into work at midnight last night to shut down the servers, all our computers, and other electronics. Totally worth it. The rain and wind outside today is dreadful. Our offices were closed today due to Sandy, so I slept in and when I woke up, my horrible headache from all day yesterday was gone. Also, Dean and Sam and John were hunting vamps on television. What a wonderful way to wake up :-) It's bad outside, but we haven't lost power or anything here. So that's good. I've got food & drink & flashlights just in case, though. I'm really just glad the excruciating, stabbing headache on the left side of my head is gone.

Inspirational Teacher Movies

I watched White Squall today. First time I've properly seen it since I was in high school. Man, I love that movie. It's probably the last movie with drowning in it that I'll ever watch, though, because I still have nightmares about those scenes. The cute boys help, though. And they're SO YOUNG! The end of the DVD wouldn't play for me so it took 2 hours to get the last 13 minutes of it to play.

After that, I popped The Ron Clark Story into the DVD player. I was in the mood for some inspirational teacher movies, even though both of those made me cry. I'm thinking I might go for a trifecta and put in Dead Poet's Society. More crying will ensue, I am certain. I really want to watch A League of Their Own, though. I heard an interview on NPR a few weekends ago when I was assembling IKEA furniture over at my place and I've wanted to rewatch it ever since. Maybe tomorrow if I still have power. MAN that wind and rain is LOUD out there right now!

Anyway, I didn't get anything written these past two hours. Drat. But at least we still have power here! My sister & her boyfriend lost power a few hours ago at his place.
