Night & Day Weekends
Feb. 24th, 2013 04:01 pmLast weekend was SO wonderful. I spent the whole weekend at home (after my volunteer shift at the library Sat morning). I cleaned and unpacked. My bedroom is about 90% done now, which is great. I adore having places that things go and being able to put them in those places. It's a stupid sort of pleasure I have always thought was dumb but that I now love. Once again, if not for all my clubs and meetups and things, I would never leave my house. I loooooove having my own place and watching it slowly come together. On Sunday, I worked out for the first time in years and I finally broke the mid-150s in my weight loss. I put on some pants from my donation box--jeans I haven't worn in about 13 years that are two sizes below what I've been wearing--and THEY FIT PERFECTLY. I even put long underwear on beneath them and the fit fine, not snug at all. So that kind of made my day. I wrote a little. I put together a lot of swap packages (Marvel and X-Files are these month's themes). I watched some X-Files (I'm up to Season 5 now). It was a great weekend.
This weekend has NOT been great. On Thursday, work was so busy I didn't get much time to eat. So I grabbed a peanut power bar when I got home (the last in a box of 6, the rest of which I ate earlier this week/month) and rushed back out to get my allergy shots before the doctor's office closed. Then I went to Toys R Us afterward and bought a case for the Series 9 LEGO minifigures. While in the store, my stomach started to hurt. On the drive back home, it started hurting more. And by the time I got home, I was almost in tears. I seriously haven't had stomach pains this bad in my entire life. I wasn't nauseated; I didn't feel like v-ing at all. There was just pain. And my whole body went super sensitive to the touch. I took all the medicine I own (LOL) but it barely helped. I called in sick to work on Friday and spent the day sitting up in pain watching House of Cards and doing what work I could from home to take my mind off the incredible pain. It hurt more if I lay down and I couldn't stand upright or walk properly until Saturday afternoon, though even then it hurt. I've been on the BRAT diet+Gatorade just in case since Thursday evening, starving but trying to eat simple things. It was like an allergy that just started for the first time. Probably my body just couldn't process peanuts on an empty stomach all of a sudden (I ate almost the same thing on Tuesday on an almost empty stomach with no problem). Today (Sunday) I feel 90% recovered. My stomach hurts just a little, but I can stand and move without crying with pain. Thank goodness! So I've gotten nothing done all weekend, apart from watching House of Cards and watching Skyfall (which I loved, and I'm not even a big James Bond fan).
I definitely want more weekends like last weekend and not this one.
On another note, a new idea for a story popped into my head the other day at the library. I just wrote up the concept & setting for a swap I'm in: http://www.swap-bot.com/swap/show/139538 I'm absolutely adoring the idea of it and can't wait to start playing with it.
