This week!
Jan. 5th, 2017 12:46 amTomorrow I head back to work. I don't really wanna... How are 2 weeks off not enough? heehee But our annual conference is 22 workdays away and OMG WE ARE NOT READY. After 10 years of this, though, I'm to the point where I'm just going to let it be what it is, and we'll see what happens. One of my coworkers will be leaving us in a week or so to take a new job at the Kennedy Center. So happy for her.
I had friends over on Monday (wonderful and delightful in and of itself), which meant the 1.5 weeks I spent cleaning my house culminated in one rush cleaning job on Sunday night. LOL House still looks clean. I want to see how long I can keep it this way. I'm so tired of feeling like I'm underwater or behind on everything all the time. I keep thinking that if I can just get through this next thing, I'll be ahead again instead of struggling to keep up. I'd like to keep on top of things and not feel that way this year.
Most of all, I just want to survive. That's my word for 2017. Some awful things are going to happen, such as my job moving 2 hours away from where I live. And somehow I'm just going to have to get through it.
New Sherlock... I have said it before and I'll say it again: I don't like it when my characters fight and don't like each other. I hope this passes quickly, because I'm getting knots in my stomach just thinking about what John's going through. He's had a pretty shitty time emotionally on this show.
The Mole. Anyone remember that game show? It was my favorite. I just binged Season 2 on Youtube (I had seen it before, so I knew who the mole was, but it was still such fun to watch). I finished it today and then decided to watch season 5. I watched all 11 episodes of that today as well. LOL Did NOT see the mole coming at all! So that was great!
The Crown. I binged this on Monday night & Tuesday. Loved it. Matt Smith was excellent. All the actors were excellent. I was so caught up I kept forgetting it was nonfiction and I could just google to find out how things turned out for people. I was doing that at one point and the photo I was looking at in the Wikipedia article was suddenly recreated on the screen above during the show, down to almost the last detail. Amazing!
I've been working my butt off slowly finishing these last few giftfics. The last 4 or so have taken SO MUCH TIME to write. Yes, it's because I'm watching stuff at the same time. But the fics in general just aren't flowing the way they sometimes do this year. I've got one more scene to write in the final story, which I should be able to do tomorrow after work. So I'm on track to keep posting on time. I worked on two fics today ALL DAY today. So it wasn't much of a vacation. I was hoping to have this work done long before now. But I did get to spend the day watching fun stuff, writing, and spending time with my cats while wearing PJs all day. And that's not a bad way to end a vacation break, right?
All right. Heading off to bed. Hoping things are quiet at work tomorrow as people ease back into it all.
Things I Still Haven't Done:
* Book reviews-- I'm, like, 30 behind... maybe 40. It's horrible.
* 2016 Fic Recap
* Hamilton Mix Tape blog post(s)
* Taken down my tiny Christmas tree
* Made Giftfic project graphic
