My weekend!
Oct. 29th, 2017 08:37 pmDid I clean? Um... no. I didn't. Not at all. Crap.
Friday: massive headache. Took migraine meds and they drove it away, thankfully. I stopped by the Post office to pick up two packages and found they now have HOCKEY stamps! I bought four sheets. I watched part 2 of Shadow of War, Critical Role's one-shot with Middle Earth orcs. I tuned into the local NaNo region's ML live chat and FIGURED OUT WHAT I'M GOING TO WRITE ABOUT THIS NOVEMBER! Then I had a movie night with Library Thing, where we all watched Never Let Me Go. I've read the book but had never seen the movie, so this was an excellent excuse to do so. It was quite good, but there were only about 4 of us and LibraryThing's owner thought the ending (which I quite like) was trite.
Saturday: volunteered at the library in the morning. Came home and watched a few episodes of Stranger Things 2. Then my headache came back. I headed out to the NaNoWriMo regional kickoff party, which was fun. I brought a whole box of raffle prizes, so now my box of writing books is only one box instead of two! NaNo's theme this year is superheroes, so I even bought a few Avengers notebooks and Justice League writing sets. And of course a flash drive, a few fluffy plot bunnies with pens, a copy of our magazine from work, and some mugs with tea and coffee. The kickoff party was excellent. I love seeing these people every year; they're so inspiring and creative and friendly. And two of my friends I get to see much more often throughout the year were there as well, so that was great. This will be my 12th NaNo in a row. I've never not won! Headed home and watched more Stranger Things 2 until headache got too bad that I mostly sat in darkness holding my head and rocking in pain. Good times! But I did phone my mother and tell her NOT to watch Stranger Things 2. She can't handle one of the plot twists right now; I had a super hard time with it myself #JusticeforMuse. Pain meds kicked in around 11. I watched the David Pumpkins Halloween special which was HILARIOUS. I am SUCH a fan of David S. Pumpkins. Then I fell asleep until 2:30am on the couch with Charlie still on my lap.
Sunday: woke up... headache was still there. Fantastic. Finished watching Stranger Things then started watching Beyond Stranger Things. Then I got ready for my meeting. Headed to meet the other Harry Potter group organizers for a 4 hour long planning session. Picked up my ordered Niffler at Hot Topic on the way home. He's adorable. Filled my car tank up with gas so I can get to work tomorrow. Tried to get a flu shot but it was RAINING outside and apparently CVS's system that processes new insurance cards doesn't work when it's raining????? So I'm going to have to go back some other time. Got home and watched more Beyond Stranger Things while putting the meetups I'll be hosting onto the calendar for the year. Seems like we're going to have a fun year ahead of us in 2018! Headache's getting bad again, so I'm going to try and get at least one load of laundry in before bed.
There is SO much cleaning I have to do before I leave on Wednesday. And I haven't even figured out how to get around Portland or where I'm even going. GAH. So I'm going to have to do that very soon. Hopefully, I'll be able to do a bit in the next couple hours, unless headache gets significantly worse. It's starting to get bad again, but maybe more meds will do something again this time. UGH. 3 days of this headache is more than enough. I really hope it's gone when I wake up tomorrow.
