Fandom: Stargate: SG-1
Rating: PG

Disclaimer: Not my characters. I wish they were mine. I definitely don’t get paid for this.
Summary: When the whole team gets sick offworld, they're stuck there until Dr. Frasier can figure out how to help them.
Notes: Written during my 13 Ficlets in 13 Days in 2017 project for [personal profile] ladykorana

I am SO sorry for any errors. Also not my best work; my apologies if it's a little rough. I felt like this fic should really be twice as long, but I didn't have the time with other giftfics to make it more than 8 pages. So I hope you like it anyway!

My 2017

I had a super rough night last night; one of the worst I've had in maybe 15 years. I'm still recovering from it, but I'm a lot better now (thanks in part to an excellent, wise friend who happened to be online last night when I was at my worst). I'm a little worried about being too reflective right now (is that the word?) but I started writing this list a few days ago and feel like sharing it. Here's my 2017.

Word of the year: Survive

Books Read: 153

Stories Finished: 76 (but haven't posted them all yet)

Conventions Attended:
  1. CONfabulation
  2. AwesomeCon
  3. ConneXions
  4. BrickFair
  5. Supernatural DC (Creation Entertainment)

Losses:
  • Angel (family cat)
  • Butterscotch (family cat)
  • FURBALL (not a cat; lovely friend)

Significant Events:
  • My work moved out of its Virginia offices in May. In September, we moved into our Maryland offices. Set up a dedicated home workspace in the interim. Now I have a 1.5 hour commute but get to work from home 3 days a week
  • Work conference in Washington, DC (my second worst conference ever; first worst was Boston and third worst was also in DC)
  • Hosted a murder mystery dinner
  • Spent one day doing ALL of Portland!
  • Attended a Harry Potter-themed library fundraiser and won two raffle prizes
  • Went on two day-long Geocaching trips (and decided it is NOT the hobby for me but got to visit the amazing National Park Seminary at Forest Glen)
  • Participated (but did not finish) the Maryland Lighthouse Challenge
  • Attended a kickass Ed Sheeran Concert and got to hear several of my favorite songs live including "I See Fire" from The Hobbit
  • Self-published story collection for my 20th community anniversary
  • Completed the Pop Sugar Reading Challenge (including the bonuses) and my library's Adult Summer Reading Bingo Challenge
  • Completed stories for an H/C Bingo

Bought:
  • Fitbit Charge 2
  • Asus transformer tablet
  • My first build-a-bear
  • Small 3-drawer plastic unit for extra socks & build-a-bear clothes in my bedroom
  • New wrapping paper holder
  • Several amazing board games
  • Way too much fan art and a portfolio to hold what won't fit on my walls
  • A custom-made Bear Pride/Genderqueer Pride pillow
  • Way too many Funko POP figures

Other Things: lost my dentist of 15+ years (he won't take my new dental plan), also lost a lot of great coworkers in the move, gained more weight than I lost (not sure how much; am scared to look at the scale these days), had to take a mental health break from swap-bot, finally made significant progress on the Pit & Ace Strokes novel I've been wanting to write for almost a decade, spent a lot of time with friends I love, watched a hell of a lot of MSNBC, found some Amazon Prime music stations I like, probably a bazillion other things that happened earlier in the year that I can't remember now (I really should keep a better list throughout the year)
