I'm going to the movies *does happy dance*

Just got an e-mail from friends saying they're hosting a LotR:TTT watching tomorrow night. Yummy Chinese food and hobbitsies... can't imagine a better way to spend the evening! (Though I WILL be taping Joan of Arcadia, Stargate, and The Handler while I'm out) and then Sat we're going to see RotK! WHOOHOO!!
Okay, I'm a person who VERY rarely sees movies in theaters... let alone a movie TWICE. The only movie I've ever seen three times in theaters was Highlander: Endgame. So to see RotK three times... well, it's thrilling *G* And I'm already packing the tissues.
I volunteered to bring TTT EE tomorrow night because I'm pretty sure they just have the theatrical version. NOT to say anything bad against the theatrical version or anything... I just like as much story as possible... I'm thinking of watching Fellowship later tonight just to get all prepared. Hrm... or maybe I'll watch it before going out tomorrow. Choices, choices...

Anyway... did mention that I saw Stargate SG1 last Friday *sigh* Cute sexual tension *G* And Jack's heroic rescue of Daniel- though Daniel did an excellent job with the torture and escape *snuggles Daniel* Very good episode. I am afraid as hell when it comes to that army though... big huge yikes...

And last Friday I also went to see Big Fish in theaters with sister (opening day, it was). I LOVED it. Okay, so I'm going through a time in my life where I want to write rather than do anything else. And I adore blurring the life between fiction and reality. And I'm madly in love with Ewan. But I LOVED the movie. So much. Cried through the last 15 minutes pretty nonstop. Had to compose myself before getting up and leaving. Oh, was SO sweet. I want a life like that! And Danny as a werewolf. Awwwwwww. Okay, so I'm sweet on wolves, too, but really, I loved the movie. Such AMAZING imagery (though I'd expect no less from Tim Burton) and so rich with details and meanings and awwww I loved it. MUCH. Made me feel all warm and fuzzy and inspired to pick my novels up again or start some kick ass short stories.
My sister, on the other hand, hated it. She'd been begging me to take her, too. I asked her if she liked it as we walked out- me still sniffling and trying not to cry- she just sort of shrugged and said she didn't like it. LOL! Then again, she's not a writer. And didn't like the fact that the main character told lies. But, honestly, I think she missed the beauty behind the point. Ah well. I LOVED it. I'll kick anyone who says it shouldn't be nominated for Oscars!
