Ohhhh Happy Happy! It's Sunday! Which means 10 straight hours of 'Charmed' and the first episode of Survivor: All Stars! I so miss Rupert! Not to mention Richard! (I know, everyone hates him, but I thought he was brilliant and brave, so there!) I think there's some football something on, too, but I hate football so I really wouldn't know. I haven't even the faintest idea whose playing. I'm just looking forward to witches kicking butt, their cute boyfriends being all cute, and then Survivor! *G*
I watched The Matrix Sat night when it was on TNT and got my Joe Pants urges "satisfied" though apparently my copy of Memento is ruined so I couldn't watch that as I'd planned. Wonder what tape I taped 'Rudy' on... I'm really in a Sean-watching mood now after The Goonies... MAN I had such a crush on Mikey when I was little *sigh*

The Story "Second Time Around" is sooo cute, and I think that the idea was very good and really well thought out, it's not the same, i mean Remus and Sirius, but it's adorable. Very different and original!

Date: 2004-02-01 10:22 pm (UTC)I have no intention of watching football tonight, even for the commercials. I'm either going to finish watching 'Children of Dune', or go see RotK for a 6th time. Either way, I'm not doing any work tonight!

Date: 2004-02-02 05:24 am (UTC)Once or twice I tried watching the football thingy for the commercials... depresses the heck out of me. I really don't like football. And I can see the best commercials online at any number of sites anyway. So I praise you for your alternative viewings as well! Taking a night off to relax is certainly good :-)

Date: 2004-02-02 05:43 am (UTC)The one thing that did strike me about Revolutions was how very much the fighting between Neo and Smith at the end reminded me of classic anime fighting, ala Yuu Yuu Hakusho or DBZ style. It made me psyched because I've often pondered the idea of a live action YYH movie, but never thought it could be done because of the nature of the characters' powers (Rei gun energy blasts, spirit sword, super fast speed and a wicked black dragon, and my lovely Kurama's Rose Whip and other powers over plants). After Revolutions, and X-Men2, I'm convinced that it can be done, even if there's no chance it would ever really happen. But I still occasionally daydream...and it means that Fushigi Yuugi would be possible too. *sigh* My first two anime loves...

Re: "OTP"
Date: 2004-02-02 09:08 pm (UTC)It usually means that for a given fandom, there's one and only one pairing that makes sense to you (usually supported by canon). But it can also mean that for the characters of a fandom (in this case, Sirius and Remus) you can only see them with each other, and that there's strong, true love and thus worthy of writing many times over (being the dominant 'ship that you sail), ignoring all other possible combinations because they don't exist in your mind. Sometimes people with OTP's can be overly passionate about voicing their opinions on their couple- as they can see it only one way, that makes sense I suppose. I personally like OTP's because I have a hard time believing in a relationship, and then changing it- my mind doesn't work that way. I like the idea of true love, of mating for life, and in this case it feels as though it can only possibly exist with Remus/Sirius, as far as those characters are concerned. Aaaaaand I've rambled on too much. I think you get the idea :-)
