Ohh fun questions
Mar. 6th, 2004 01:01 amFun questions gacked from Hermione :-)
1. ...your first grade teacher's name?
Mrs. Sherril. Er. Or Sherill. Or Sherrill. Ew. No. I think the first one. Come on, I can't spell now, let alone when I was in first grade!
You know it's sad when you can remember all of your elementary school teachers but not the ones you had a year ago in college! LOL!
2. ...your favorite Saturday morning cartoon?
POUND PUPPIES!!!!!!!!!!!! I was OBSESSED with Pound Puppies. I think, apart from maybe PBS shows, it was my first real obsession. I used to bring all my pound puppies and purries (which grew in number to something like 25) down to the basement and line them all up to watch the show with me every Sat morning. I still have a few of them out in my room right now, in the "childhood" corner of my bedroom along with the official pound puppy travel carrier, sleeping bag(for the puppies to fit into, not for humans), books, bowl, and dog house. *desperately wants the movie and series on DVD*
But, yeah. I was a child of the 80's. Name any popular Sat morning show back then and I probably watched it. But we didn't have cable, so I didn't watch all of them(I think I managed to see Rainbow Brite, like, 3 times, but I LOVED the Care Bears... two are sitting on one of my couches right now... Gods this makes me sound like I'm still 5... I'll stop rambling now.).
3. ...the name of your very first best friend?
Ethan. He was Jewish and we played transformers together among many other things. He was damn smart (in kindergarten he used to read the letters to the parents on the way home from school) But he also wore red and pink nail polish(which normally I wouldn't have a problem with, but he was 7) and went a little nuts after he got a dog angry and it bit him. Mom said he was probably a bit nuts before that, but I was, like, 5 or 6. I don't remember. I still have the airplane christmas ornament he gave me and the purple glitter bracelet I got when I went over to celebrate Chanukah at his place.
My first really really really best friend who I still adore was Courtney. She's in New York city now working for a fashion designer. I've been meaning to send her an e-mail. She just got a hotmail account. We haven't talked in, like, 7 or 8 years. We used to play Pound Puppies together :-) Why is it that I can still remember the names of her pound puppies but I forget how to do differential equations? LOL Marshmallow was her first(a white wrinkled puppy)... and then her second was Amonia(She got her for Christmas and imagined it was sick with Pneumonia but got the name wrong. LOL But a girl after my own heart, naming a stuffed animal after its first pretend illnes. Yeah. I never felt quite so bad about imagining my stuffed animals were sick after that. Fond memories. *sigh*)
4. ...your favorite breakfast cereal?
Cheerios! I have two boxes sitting on my fridge right now(the regular kind and the banana & berry mix)! But I'll eat anything so long as it's not too bad and doesn't have chocolate/is too sweet. I adore cereal. But Cherrios is my favorite. I used to do this very anal thing where I'd eat each cheerio individually and I'd eat every single one that wasn't touching milk first... then all the semi-soaked ones... then all the rest. Oohhh and I used to eat cheerios and rasins dry as a snack aaaalllll the time as a kid. I was only allowed candy on Halloween, Christmas, and Easter, so rasins and cheerios were a treat. *sigh* So much simpler back then.
5. ...your favorite thing to do after school?
Sleep. Definitely. And write. Yup. Wish I could think of a way to do both at the same time... that would be fantastic...

Date: 2004-03-06 08:59 am (UTC)But when I was a kid, oh, I was ALL about the Saturday morning cartoons! Because it was the only day I was allowed to watch real TV *sigh* I miss those days. Sat morning cartoons aren't really a *thing* any more. They're not on all the channels, and there's not this big competition like there used to be, sadly. Not the same :-(
