Versions of Lorien
Mar. 18th, 2003 03:20 amAll righty. So I decided that there was nothing I'd like to write better than Aragorn and a certain sneezey elf rolling around beneath the sheets at Lorien. So I watched the movie version of their time there (okay, I backed it up so I could watch their escape from the mines because I have a soft spot for sweet, grief-stricken lads and Merry and Pip... and Sam... and even Bor and Leg, heck all of them are just too precious) And I got it down well, every movement, every word. Plans started to hatch.
Then I got the urge to read that particular section in the book. Arg. Too many conflicting bits... both of them wonderful... don't know which to go with... So I decide on a mix between the two... mainly because I wanted a little more play with Haldir and a coming-down-sick Legolas... So I go to find the script so I can get the elvish right and ARG, wouldn't you know it? There are different scripts.
So I pop over to my living room and pull out my set to watch the extended DVD version. And now I'm more confused than ever! LOL. This version works with the book better... and has many aspects I loved from the book's scene encorporated. So I might go with it in the long run... but my story's already AU so if I stray a little in every direction it's certainly not the death of the world.
But grrr! Three versions of the same scene... plus mine makes four... and they're all jumbled up in my head, fighting for superiority. The only things I can promise in the end are sneezes and, again, some Legolas/Aragorn action *G* heehee
