Went looking around at nearby colleges today with sister and mother. Remembered why I never wanted to move back into the house. Kill me now. Please. I must learn some sort of stress management technique that works when you want to squeeze someone's neck because my techniques don't work so well. Ug.
After they dropped me off back at home (thank goodness) they went back out to Target and sister drove home "solo" for the first time (Mom was ordered to sit in the backseat). Anyway, she wasn't looking and rear-ended a car while trying to turn into the grocery store parking lot. Yeah. After I got over my frantic, worried ohmygoshareyouokay-ness, I must admit I was glad as this means she'll quit bragging about how fantastic a driver she is. I've never been in an accident and I would never, ever wish one on anyone. But the other car wasn't even scratched and no airbags deployed and there's a dent in the front fender only. So if this gives me a few weeks of peace and quiet I'm glad for it! I'm relieved no one was hurt though.
They're paving the roads in my housing development tomorrow(we live in a townhouse). We had to move all our cars up onto the street outside the development. Mine was already there as we only get 2 parking spaces per family, but on normal days it's hard to find a spot on that street. It's IMPOSSIBLE now. Cars are PACKED in. ANd everyone's going bonkers having to walk 4 blocks from car to house and back again. It's rather fun to watch, I must admit. It's annoying to everyone, though. And apparently it'll take a few days to dry so by this time tomorrow I'm sure there will be an fight or two out in the streets over places to park and frustration of having to walk 20 minutes to their cars. Should be interesting. They haven't repaved here in about 7 or 8 years, though. So we were due.

Date: 2004-08-17 01:09 am (UTC)Reminds me of a woman who called into Car Talk on NPR a few weeks ago. Told about how she and her boyfriend were driving each other's cars and she accidentally hit her car while driving his. The insurance companies apparently had no way of classifying the accident and it took a long while to get things paid for. Not to mention her boyfriend dumped her over it and was an ass.
