Day/Fic process

tarotgalDidn't have the best day today. I didn't manage to get to sleep until 7am. Bleh.
My cousin(in Cali)'s not doing well again. He crashed his car a day or two again by driving it across railroad tracks and ditches for fun. Threatened to kill my aunt and uncle again and trashed his room. They think he's on crystal meth. The cops came and took him away in handcuffs tonight. He's 17. Bloody hell! My aunt is considering coming back over here for another week to get away from things again. I just want to give the kid a good kick. He's got it SO good. And there are so many of us who love him, especially my grandfather. *sigh*
And then my neighbor, the one I drove up to the hospital for tests last week, woke up and couldn't walk and had to be rushed to the emergency room. There are no spare beds at any ofthe hospitals so they can't admit him ANYWHERE. They called me to go over and watch their dog while they were at the hospital. I wish I could have done more. As of now, I still don't think he's been admitted, but his wife came home because she can't do anything there anyway. *sigh* They don't need this. *sob* I'm on call in case she needs me to drive or walk the dog or anything.
Not a good day, emotionally.

Today's fic progress:
- Finished editing and posted to my LJ the LotR Aragorn sneezefic. I feel like it's still rather rough. I think because I was concentrating so much on the action and getting the plot out so much that the style/tone really fell away. Ugh. I dunno.
- Wrote a page or two of the Pirates of Dark Water fic. I'm working up to the sneezes. There's lots of angst and action thus far but no sneezes yet. It'll get there, though. And I think it's going to be a bit Ioz/Ren. But Tula's definitely in there, too. And Niddler... eh, I don't think I'm doing much with him. LOL
- Started an original short fic tonight. It started as a drabble/scene sort of thing but I think it's going to be an actual sneezefic. It's been inspired by all my recent dog walking exploits. I keep wanting to name the main character's dog 'Skip' for some reason, but that doesn't work well with a stuffy nose. LOL!
