Another stuff post...
Sep. 20th, 2004 03:09 amMy neighbor dropped by a thank you present for me today. A lovely new anime DVD: Vampire Hunter D- Bloodlust. It's one I've actually been really wanting to see. But, yeah, when I get that old I hope I have enough sense to get people such thoughtful thank you presents. I was all squeeish for hours. I love taking care of their dog, and I need the exercise. And I don't mind helping out whenever needed. But, yeah, an anime DVD. How sweet are they?! Okay, so on our 4-hour round-trip drive up to Pennsylvania and back I did mention I liked anime. But the fact that they'd go to so much trouble... nice people. I'm excited. Haven't watched it yet. Will probably save it for tomorrow. Nothing's ever good on TV on Monday nights.
Watched Bowling for Columbine again tonight. It was on Sundance. *sigh* I love Michael. He's my God ;-) I must remember to go put my Kerry/Edwards sticker on my car tomorrow. My sister's volunteering locally for the campaign so she brought home a lot of signs and stickers and such :-) She's in denial about the possibility he'll lose. I don't blame her.
I watched part of the Emmy awards. Cried a bit at various parts. But no surprise, huh?
Fics today were strange...
Okay... time to clean out catboxes and run a mile on the elliptical! *is pumped.. thirsty, but pumped*

Fics today were strange...
- As I was taking a shower before going to bed around 6:30 this morning, I was bitten by a new Aragorn sneezefic bunny. (For an Aragorn/Legolas fic) I was writing parts in my head while in the bathroom. But by the time I got back to my computer, the muses bit again before I could even open another document
- So I suddenly started another Remus/Sirius fic about 15 seconds after getting back from the bathroom. Boom! There it was! Literally 15 seconds from inspiration to writing. So poor miserable Aragorn was pushed aside before he even got screen time. DAMN but I wish I had a comp in the bathroom. LOL But I don't think Aragorn minds. He was miserable and embarrassed in that fic bunny. I'll write the bunny down and get to it sometime, though. I've a LONG list of ideas I've not even started fics for yet. ANYWAY, I wrote a page of the R/S fic before falling asleep at the comp and then crawling into bed after 7am. It's funny and cute and I love it thus far. It's a little different. But I guess everything's a little different, right? Otherwise you'd get really bored reading the same fic over and over again. And I'd get REALLY bored writing it over and over again.
- I was inspired to pick up a Charlie Weasley sneezefic I started many moons ago, today. It was meant to be a short character drabble involving a character I introduce in my unfinished Ron fic 'The Vampire' but it never got finished. But after reading a part of a Remus/Sirius fic today that reminded me SO much of my drabble, I picked it up and started writing mine again. It'll be a ficlet but it'll be done soon. It's short but I got far in it today. Really out of the blue, though. It's been a strange day writing-wise!

Date: 2004-09-20 05:44 pm (UTC)Hugh was great. I mean, how could you take advantage of the country that brought you Harry Potter? heehee Glad you like the movie thus far!
Oh, and Liam Neesan. He was Qui-Gon in Star Wars: the phantom menace. I know you didn't love the movie, but you said you'd seen it, so that's where you know him from. He's been in a dozen other really fantastic things, though. Like Rob Roy *drools*

He's having another surgery tomorrow, so they're still hopeful that will solve the problem. We'll see. I really hope he gets better soon. They're erally sweet people.

I don't have that particular problem... but sorry 'bout that! :-) Oh, and yes, wonderful Brits *snuggles them* Kira is so beautiful... and Alan... ohhhhhh I love Alan in that movie. Then again, I've never not liked him in anything. That man's fantastic. *sigh*

Date: 2004-09-20 06:31 pm (UTC)heh i still dont quite remember Star Wars stuff that well--sorry! Just not a fandom of mine, so i guess it went over my head *shrug*
have you ever seen Alan Rickman in "Rasputin"? He's with Ian McKellen there--that's a great movie. :-D I've only seen him in that, and of course the HP films...nothing else. well, before seeing him in this movie.
this movie DOES get a little confusing though i must admit--i may have to watch it a second time to really get the relationships. lolol.

Actually, I haven't, but I remember you recommending it a long while back when you got it. I'll have to put it on my list of vids to rent. I'm sure it rocks. Alan's great in everything :-) Not to mention that he does sick and sneezy so well... oohhhh! *EG* I can't remember what I first saw him in... Robin Hood, maybe.

My problem was watching it while writing, so I really only saw some parts out of the corner of my eye and I missed important moments. But when I watched it the second time on the tv instead of the corner of my comp screen I didn't have any problems :-) I love movies like this where everyone's connected. But I totally recommend watching it again *G*

Date: 2004-09-20 07:46 pm (UTC)it was just odd seeing Alan with short hair LOL. Im so used to him dressed as Snape! XD
i LOVED the Titanic reference between Liam and the boy who played Sam ;) that was adorable "Do you trust me?" "I trust you--" "FOOL!" (why does that remind me of a cute Sirius and Harry thing? XD)

Date: 2004-09-20 08:35 pm (UTC)Yup. It definitely helps to devote all attention to the movie. But I'm the first to admit I don't have the time to do that :-)

heehee He does look different. Yup. You should see him in Galaxy Quest! Or Dogma, for that matter... but he's one of those actors that's instantly recognizable. Unlike Ewan who has a thousand looks that are all significantly different.

The director's commentary is cute for that part where they show the Titanic clip. "Oh, this was an especially hard part to shoot..." heehee
But Liam and Thomas were fantastic in that part. I love much *snuggles* I thought you'd get a kick out of that part :-)
I dunno about Sirius & Harry, though. As light-hearted as Sirius is... I can't recall him ever joking about protecting Harry. I think he really wanted to let Harry know he could be trusted. And even though he joked about some things, or wanted to have fun with Harry in possibly irresponsible ways, I don't think he would have joked about his Godfather role... not after all he'd been through to get back to Harry. But that's just my perspective. *shrug*

Date: 2004-09-20 08:47 pm (UTC)well my friend told me about that Titanic scene before i saw the movie LOL. that was so cute---hehe and hard to shoot, eh? ;) He probably had to get special rights to use that part hehe. "Leo and Kate--we need them, NOW." *giggle*

Date: 2004-09-20 08:53 pm (UTC)Well, don't ask the director about the special rights thing. He says several times during the commentary that he has no idea if he got rights to use any of what he used. LOL! But I'm absolutely certain he did, as it's credited at the end there as well as the song playing during that scene.
But I love that part. Titanic therapy :-) *sigh* What a good daddy.

Date: 2004-09-20 09:23 pm (UTC)I've had a few ideas, but have only started the Jamie-fic (Colin's character) after the swim in the lake. But one with Liam... oohhhh I'd love reading one! I'm sure I'll write one eventually... but nothing started yet and it's always a joy to read something that's come from someone else's head *G*

But a fic with Liam's character sounds greater than great *G* Whenever you decide to go for it :-)
