I watched and taped (again) Ewan on Leno tonight when it repeated. This time I got that little bit before the commercial on tape. Something about the way he plays with his wedding ring when he talks... GUH but the man is perfect! LOL
But I taped the interview on a fresh tape so that I can tape all 6 episodes of his show after that and it'll all be in one place. Sooooo excited about it!
Is it Thursday yet?
I'm planning on putting on "Serpant's Kiss" tomorrow after my usual round of shows (Wednesday being Lost, Kevin Hill, and then Wife Swap) to get in the mood further. As though I could ever be OUT of the mood. Ewan! *squee* And Charley! And Ewan! *dies* Am so happy. NOT just because of the whole fangirlyness, but I really am looking forward to seeing the adventures. I have that "get in my car and drive across America" drive going on right now (not to mention friends and family positioned perfectly for me to be able to do so without much difficulty) so going across the WORLD. Guh. I'm envious and want to live vicariously through the sexy men! :-) Wait that sounds... *looks at my slash writing* no, that sounds about right. LOL!
Are you sure it's not Thursday yet? *whimpers*
EDIT: I'm watching Serpant's Kiss AFTER the eclipse, mind! I don't want to miss that! *wishes she had time to write a full moon & lunar eclipse Remus-fic*

Date: 2004-10-27 09:18 am (UTC)It's a little strange, the movie. It's about the glam rock era and is told in flashback but throws in a couple of elements that... are strange an confusing. I watched it the first time and went "Huh. Okay..." But I felt myself strangely drawn to the movie for its prettiness and its wisdom. And I suddenly found myself watching it again before I returned it to the video store and then renting it again a week later. By the third time watching it I was completely in love. Don't really know how it happened but I LOVE that movie :-)
There's lots of bisexuality, there's lots of glitter, there's lots of singing. Themes of exposing who you really are to the world, of wanting to change the world, and of creating art (which, as a writer really get to me). And did I mention Ewan naked?! And Ewan kissing and falling for YUMMY Johnathan Rhys Myers'. Oohhhh sexy boys!
There are tons of other naked Ewan movies(Serpant's Kiss-though you can't actually see his manhood, Trainspotting, The Pillow Book, Young Adam, etc.), though this one's definitely my favorite. I'm just not sure it would be *your* thing. It wasn't my thing the first time I watched it. But the movie has a strange quality. Very magical. Very beautiful. VERY fantastic acting from some top-notch people. And it's won a lot of awards on top of that. SO YUMMY! Gah, now you have me wishing I had time to watch it before work *pout* LOL!
It's definitely my favorite Ewan movie yet. Erm. Big Fish comes close... but, no, VG wins that honor easily. Sexy boys...

Date: 2004-10-27 04:12 pm (UTC)I can't understand how it's possible to hate EITHER of those movies. Seriously. They're gorgeous. And as a writer Big Fish made an especially strong impact on me. My sister wasn't a big fan of Big Fish but she can't stand reading or writing fiction. But I seriously don't understand how it's possible to hate either of those movies. Even if they're not your thing, the movies themselves are beautiful to watch and have great storytelling elements and fantastic casts of characters. People who "hate" it must be nutters without common sense and I hope I never meet one :-)

Date: 2004-10-27 04:15 pm (UTC)Interesting TV line-up. Mine tonight is Lost, then the first new ep of South Park this season, followed by the premiere of a rather vulgar (but funny) looking series called 'Drawn Together'...think the Real World only in cartoon terms. There's a musclebound superhero, a Disney-like princess, a bitchy girl from the Betty Boop era drawn in black and white, a little anime creature resembling Pikachu from Pokemon, and the one that really interests me-a pretty-boy character that carries a sword, wears green, has pointy ears, and is from a video game where he endlessly tries to rescue his 'girlfriend'. I hope this show doesn't end up sucking, because I love making fun of reality show cliches!
In terms of Ewan movies, I have seen Velvet Goldmine twice, and while I fully enjoyed and appreciated the Ewan nudity, I really didn't care that much for the movie itself. Not my kind of music, and I don't like the whole glamour guy scene, or guys with heavy eye makeup. I like my gay guys more like Michael Novotny from QAF and less like Brian Slade from VG. Also, I just really disliked Ewan's hair in this movie *G*
On the other hand, I found 'The Pillow Book' to be utterly delicious in almost every way, shape, and form, except for the icky older guy. Japanese characters are beautiful, body painting is kinky, and Ewan's body is the most damn gorgeous canvas ever created! Plus, I find it totally endearing how young he looks in this movie!
Hermione, for his non-nekkid movies, I highly recommend you watch 'Shallow Grave'. It manages to be cute and funny, and yet at the same time very creepy and disturbing. Ewan's acting is fantastic, and there are several really cute hurt/comfort moments that totally make me melt! (Think cute bloodied boy in skimpy boxers!)
