Everything
Dec. 9th, 2004 02:07 pmSo Tuesday I went on a mad 'buying Chanukah presents' search. It started at 9:30am and hit many stumbling blocks (including but not limited to the fact that most stores don't open until at least 10, and that NOBODY has Hannukah ANYTHING anywhere- growl!). I managed to dash around town every which way, buy a couple things at the petstore, and still make it to work by 10:30 (which is when I had to get there). During my brief lunch break I tore out and attempted to find a holiday card. My tastes were selective: a wolf, a non-denominational happy message inside, and something snow related. I'd looked EVERYWHERE!I've been looking for days and been to every Halmark and drug store everywhere. LOL So there I was at Walmart, looking at the HUGE selection and nothing. NOTHING! I was about to give up when I decided to dig all the way to the back of the shelves. Just as I was selecting a horrible country-looking snowman card box as my last resort, I found it. On the bottom, last shelf, in the very back: a blue (my favorite color) set of cards with a wolf standing in the snow and small snowflakes here and there and a literary quote on the front and nondenominational message. I nearly died with the shock. Hours upon hours of searching, and it's hidden away at the back of a shelf at Walmart. I was floored with happy. Things that perfect NEVER happen to me. Man. Soooooo happy! *pets the pretty wolfies*
Oh, and the gifts I gave out Tues went over well, also. (Gave my boss and family dog bones since I dogsit for them and a Blockbuster gift card because they're all really behind on movies and need some relaxing time as a family).
I started a story out of the blue last night. Is a holiday gift for someone who didn't request one of me. I've decided I'm NEVER going to have free time again. But I enjoy writing more than anything else in the world so I don't really mind.
I'm making good progress in my Remus/Bill fic, though. Two days ago I decided that instead of it taking place on one day, it was going to span 3. (Well, 4 really, but the first day is only a 10-minute intro sort of thing) So I've got the first (and longest) day done and I'm working on day two. I've also decided that the wildness (so to speak) is going to increase from day to day. I think it's a beautiful way of doing what I needed to for the challenge and hope it continues to work well for me. I'll get back to everyone about betaing when I get home tonight from work.
*sniffles* Thursday and no Ewan. I'm sad.
OH! But last night that first episode of the second season of The O.C. that I missed (from November 4th I think it was) FINALLY finished downloading for me (only took a month)! So I finally got to watch it, and now I can watch the rest of the season that I've been taping since because I couldn't very well come in after missing the first episode (and because Survivor and Ewan were on at the same time). But, YAY! I was thrilled it finally downloaded for me. And the episode was adorable. Even if Seth and Ryan made it a point NOT to hug. Booo! Everything is better with more boy-hugging! LOL
But the good part about this is that now I have episodes on tape and can watch them to get into the mood and tone to write fics. Yayness.
