Had a very nice Christmas. Didn't have to wake up too early, Daddy made breakfast (eggs, hashbrowns and veggie saussage- YUM! We also had blueberry turnovers and the obligatory orange from the Christmas stocking), and everyone liked nearly everything they got (My father is returning his $250- on sale for $100- chair-top massager and heater because he doesn't want to be relaxed while he works, but he's hard to please).
I got:
The whole family also got:
I got:
- America (the book) by The Daily Show with Jon Stewart (from my boss)
- a digital camera (no surprise!), rechargable battery recharger, extra memory card for digital camera, plus a little extra money to get camera accessories
- Angel ornament (from neighbors)
- Irish Coffee soap (that my Dad picked up for me when he was in Ireland)
- Wooden snowman ornament (my parents get me an ornament every year for my own tree- it's tradition)
- 'There and Back Again An Actor's Tale' by Sean Astin (Squeee!)
- Harry Potter Maurauder's Map LEGO set
- Scottish Castles book (from friend)
- Scottish shortbread (from friend)
- Eeyore pajama pants (from friend)
- Slippers (because my feet are always like ice!)
- Two beautiful writing journals (from my sister)
- Lady Cottingtonton's Pressed Fairy Calendar featuring Brian Froud's art (from my sister- it is GORGEOUS! And hilarious, at that! And now I'm going to have pretty fairies on one wall and sexy bishies on the other, calendar-wise)
- A plush Audobon Bird which sings- it's a Carolina Wren and so soft *pets*
- Leg warmers
- Dental floss, hand lotion
- Small post-it notes (that I plan to use to mark up Harry Potter canon when I get second/third copies of the books)
- Loads of ummy candy
- A Best Buy gift certificate (which has Queer as Folk Season 3 written all over it!) and a little extra money from friends and family
The whole family also got:
- Lord of the Rings RISK game- we played it yesterday. Took us over 2 hours to set it up and understand the rules, but then it was a load of fun. Game went to 3:30 in the morning at which time we felt sick and packed it up and finished it today
- One of those Game Geenie things for the Playstation 2- we figured it out yesterday and I managed to get past the opening credits in Metal Gear Solid without dying. YAY!!! Got to the part where the snow soldier guys are sneezing. Oohhhhhhhhh *sighs happily and ignores that cold medicine Snake is carrying around with him*
- A few puzzles (I got my mother a Sopranos one, and a roll-up puzzle carrier thingie so we don't have to worry about the cats killing the puzzle overnight or eating the pieces)
- Stupid Bush Quotes Daily calendar (I love my relatives *G*)
- Vegetarian cookbook
- Photo album with photos of my Dad and aunts when they were little

Hee! I remember a few Christmases ago, playing "Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time" and discovering with delight that Link will start sneezing if you leave him standing for a while in the ice palace.
Those sexy, sexy video games. :)

Date: 2004-12-27 06:06 am (UTC)I played good and my parents were both playing evil. I managed to wipe out most of the black and then took over the rest of the board. It was slow, but I ended up having to use scraps of paper as little green betalians and I took over everything but 7 territories just as the Fellowship reached Mt. Doom. Was lots of fun. Even if I did lose Lorien and Minas Tirith and it took hours to recapture them. I feel guilty about that.

Date: 2004-12-27 07:36 am (UTC)Ohhh... so you didn't use the point system to indicate who the winner was? Because, irregardless of what is going on territory-wise, I think eventually the Fellowship will always get to Mount Doom, so long as more turns are being taken. Though I suppose it's possible for evil to take over the entire board completely and then not require more turns to be taken. Still the point system would make evil the winner in that case... but, then, I guess if it was just a good/evil game... I didn't read to see if there was a separate type for that. I'm going to have to read the directions again next time we play anyhow. Ow. My brian hurts from that game... LOL!!
Point is- yay! I'm glad good won! :-)
