Fandom SQUEEs!
Mar. 23rd, 2005 07:57 pmI got a care package from my best online friend today in the mail and among many many fantabulous things (see my photo blog for two), there were also quite a few videos. And 2 of those videos were the first 4 episodes of Farscape! Blockbuster sadly only has "the best of season 1" and I refuse to watch them out of order or missing episodes. So I didn't rent it, but YAY for the first four episodes! I can't wait to watch them tonight (as I sit down and try to figure out how much of my paychecks need to be withheld *pout*)
I'm on side B of Tape 3 of 4 for Fellowship of the Ring right now... and they're JUST now getting to the council meeting. Not that I'm surprised as they don't seem to be cutting much out at all, but, still, I'm worried they're not going to fit it all in! I suppose the battle scenes will all be short to make up for it. But I'm getting a real kick out of this.
Tom Bombadil was fantastic! With the singing and the voice and... yeah, I loved muchly.
Gloin is being pronounced 'Glow-win' which maybe is how it's supposed to be, with the accent, but that's not how I pronounce it in my head, so I giggle a little.
And Legolas' name has been mentioned one as he was introduced at the beginning of the council scene and it was pronnounced as 'Leg-OH-lass' with the first and third syllables said REALLY fast and the second highly stressed. And Denethor's was sooo strange I had to stop the tape to laugh.
But I really dig Boromir's voice. I thought it was strange at first but at least he's not a Viking.
And Aragorn's isn't too bad, either.
Frodo's voice is read by someone who can't act. Imagine "ow my shoulder" said in a monotone. *rolls voice*
It's very amusing to listen to, though. I keep yelling at the characters not to do things and such. And I honestly don't know anything they cut out yet... well, a few lines here and there obviously and lots of narration... except I did notice a few long songs being cut out... there have been quite a few versus of song, though. Especially with Tom. So that's been lovely.
Oh! ANd Glorfindel! I so love him, and it was really, really great to have him there all glowy and with his lovely horse to help Frodo.
Oh! Dunadan! They pronounce it "Done-a-din." As in "This is Aragorn. He is of the doneadin." *cringes* LOL
Yes, very amusing and enjoyable. Definitely makes my trips to work and back much more exciting :-) When Boromir recided the words from his dream about the sword and the coming of the king I got shivers all up and down my spine. But that's where I stopped.
