Ah, Batman!

tarotgalAh, Batman. My first superhero love :-) Sure, I followed Spiderman in the newspapers and I probably saw the first Superman movie before the Batman one. But I've always loved Bruce first and best and still do. There's something so dark and brooding and mysterious about him. Plus I love the fact that he's just a normal human- no super powers at all. Everything he is is HIM. Real intelligence and skill and a pure desire to help because he wants to, not because he's been gifted with something. Not that I don't love those types, of course. I just love Bruce. *snuggles*
And Christian as Bruce? FUCKING EXCELLENT! Definitely a nice end of a shite week for me. The new trailer for 'The Island' had me squeeing bigtime. But the movie itself was really excellent. Liam and Gary were fantastic, and Christian's Batman reminded me SO much of Michael's so that really made it for me. And Alfred. Gods, but I love Alfred! And the love interest portion was in perfect doses for me. And young!Gordon was adorable!
But my favorite? My absolute favorite (and anyone who's seen the movie... or not, for that matter... should find this comes as no surprise) was "shivery, angsty, just-fallen-through-the-ice, huddled-round-a-campfire" Bruce. Guuuuhhhhhhhh! *THUNK* So with the yummy, I can't even begin to tell you how many bunnies struck me at that point. I started writing a sneezefic then and there and had to literally stop my mind a few sentences in and return it to the movie before I completely ignored what was going on. But sqqqqquuuueeeeeeeeeee! Snow and shivering and cold and wet and lots of angst and BRUCE! So nummy.
I'm so glad it was a good movie. Looked beautiful, too. I want a batcave! *pouts* Then again, I ADORE character backstories so I don't have the typical complaints people have had about the movie in reviews. Hey, we've all seen normal batman movies- and there've been plenty of bad ones. I think they did a fantastic job with the approach, the elements, the bad guys, the development, the character-building and, oh, did I mention the ANGST?! Good movie *G*
My stomach started to hurt about an hour into it, but it's better now, thank goodness. I got meds so I'm going to start taking them tonight. I hope they help. I don't get airsick but I can't imagine it'll be fun flying when I already feel like I"m going to v. *shudder*
But today's gone well so far (as of 7pm):
Wake up at 7am
Walk the dog
Feed the dog and cats
Walk the dog again
Take in the trash cans and recycling bin
Nap until 11:30
Feed the dog
Walk the dog another time
Go to see Batman Begins (NOTE: and I didn't get lost! YAY!)
Recycle stacks of magazines that have been in my car for months
Pick up meds
Feed the dog and cats
Walk the dog yet again
Go grocery shopping
Water plants in front and in back of house
Walk dog yet another time
Tape Part 3 of Into the West at 8pm
Tape Party Monster at 8pm on other TV
Walk dog one last time and put him to bed
Feed the cats moist food
Nighttime routine (do dishes, sweep floors, clean counters, refil water bowls, empty catboxes)
Watch the Aviator
And sometime in there I need to make room for writing ;-) And eating. Bleh. I got ingredients for making smoothies. Figured that'll be a nice treat. And hope that my lack of being able to make ANYTHING in the kitchen can be overcome long enough to make something halfway decent in the blender. Hmmm. Assuming I can figure out where my parents keep their blender... Gods, but I'm useless in the kitchen!
