Van update
Apr. 10th, 2003 11:08 amI'm sure everyone's hanging on my every word for news of my old 1980's van LOL
I got 2.5 hours of sleep(maybe slightly less by the time I actually fell asleep) and then called the mechanics. I needed to get towed since the damn thing wouldn't start at all so I'm waiting for the truck... it can't find me because no one knows these streets around my apartment and they're too good to ask for directions, so I got a phone call asking for my location again twice LOL Second time I gave directions and by the time I left my apartment, they were already at my place. LOL
Anyway, towtruck comes, it's POURING rain (which should make my WALK to campus this afternoon and back VERY exciting, I'm telling you!) and cute college guy jumps out. He opens my hood, tries the car, then asks the other guy (typical grizzled mechanic guy) for a hammer. He LIES DOWN on the street in the rain on his side and hits something under my car with the hammer. The damn car starts right up and he drives it over to the garage LOL Wonder how much I'll have to pay in towing? :-) Anyway, the problem's with the starter they say, so I'm waiting for an estimate. Gotta leave 2 hours early for the elementary school otherwise I won't get to campus on time (it's over a mile walk from my place) and be able to catch the bus to the nearest stop (which is a quarter of the mile from the school)
Ah. It would have to be raining, huh? Just my luck :-) Think I'm going to go nap for an hour and a half before I brave the pouring rain with a rain jacket that is broken and won't zip. :-) Damn old van. Damn jacket. Damn my luck! LOL
