HP4 Trailer

Okay, so after spending 2 hours downloading and watching the HP4 trailer repeatedly... I'm in a hyper sqeeeing mode. Why am I always the last to see these things? LOL Doesn't matter. Point is- awwwwww! Such a mix of "WTF are they thinking??" and "YAY!!!" but it mostly comes out in the good category.

Okay, this is a rambling listing thing:
Cedric- not bad! *waves my Hufflepuff banner* Krum- handsome and broody and oohhhh I love his nose! The Quidditch stadium- how the F*ck do they get there??? Stupid idiots. Tasks- look fantastic, especially the dragon and the swimming and the imcredibly huge hedge maze. The ball- OMG Ron's past-pathetic dress robes and Hermy dancing! Gred and Forge tricking the goblet- thank goodness the humor wasn't cut entirely (I swear I'll never forgive them if there's no bouncing ferret!). The blue flames are fantastic. The carriage arrival scene is magnificent. They all look so much older!!! And YAY for the Rom looking around Harry scene just like in movie 2! Phlem is pretty but not what I'd flip out over were I a guy (or Ron). Cho's cuter/younger than the image of her in my head (I think of her more as a beautiful tomboy, what with the Quidditch playing). Mad Eye looks like a freakish mad scientist-slash-inventor-type NOT an Auror (capitalized just for circe's benefit *EG*)!!! I very much dislike him so far. The golden egg isn't at all what I expected either but I can live with it. LOVE the madness at the Quidditch World Cup but since WHEN did the Death Eaters become KKK clansmen in black? With all the sexy cloaks and hoods they come up with THAT design? Dunce caps? (See this cartoon) But, in all, not bad and I can't wait! :-)



EDIT: As several people want to see this [heavily cg] trailer... I followed a link from this August Leaky Cauldron post from August to get it at this French site. As far as I know, this is the "international trailer".

Where can I find this trailer to download it? All I've seen so far is the American teaser trailer and some promo photos. I agree with you that Viktor and Cedric look yummy, and Moody looks more like some crackpot inventor or mental hospital patient than he does a fearsome, paranoid auror-type not to be messed with.

YAY! I'm glad you agree with me about Moody *is worried* I totally don't see how they got from the illustrations of him in the books to that!

I watched what is being called the international trailer. But I put the link in the original post for reference for you.

Egg- Oh, I pictured it to be that big, too. I just didn't picture it to be mechanical and open up like a flower. I pictured it to be a, well, an egg. LOL

But I agree completely about the fight. POA was too condensed for me... I worry about what they're cutting to get this down to normal movie running time.

Exactly. I agree with everything you said. ESPECIALLY with the KKK members. As if it's not clear that the people running around burning things are BAD, they have to exaggerate parallels. I wonder how Voldy will look with his Hitler mustache. Gah.

Mad Eye, I can't even begin to go into. None of the (few, granted) people that I know, who have glass eyes, require a leather strap to keep it in their head. Apparently such things are too much for magic to handle? GRRR.

I'm sure that I will adore it (at least parts of it) but, right now...I'm glad I saw this trailer so early on in things. I need time to reconcile everything before I see the thing in its entirety if I don't want to have a stroke mid-movie. Grr.

Thanks for the link! Very cool trailer! This is hands-down the movie I've been most psyched about this entire year (Yes, even including SW:Ep 3 and Chronicles of Narnia) and I'm hoping it will be like HP3 in terms of it being wonderfully engaging despite changes from canon.

I always imagined the egg looking like the golden egg from 'Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory'. *G* I pictured it opening right smack in the middle of the egg, with a single hinge on one side that is invisible from the outside....

Off topic: I was rereading fanfics on your site and I noticed that there is no link to click on for the LotR story 'The Long Way'. I've been really craving a re-read of that lately, particularly the ending. *G* Any chance you can make that available?

Yes yes yes! That's how I imagined it, too! More like the way some of the eggs open at Easter time, only magical (I like machines fine, but it astounds me how many they work into the later movies because it looks cool- considering Arthur's inexperience with that sort of thing, I don't know why they use so many when they could just use magic)
