So I'm doing this 3-day mediation training for work. I thought I'd hate it, and it's not incredibly thrilling. But we did an SDI "test" today (like Myers Briggs) and I LOVE doing those. The training is an hour away so I'm voting tomorrow morning (EVERYONE, GO VOTE!!!) then going to training and staying over that night. Then I'm coming home Wednesday.
Today I got to meet the two people in charge of the company my company's working with/under starting in January. (They're giving the training) They're very nice, even if they treat me like I'm FIFTEEN.
Them:"Look to your left, you can see the Shanandoah River, Sweetie! ANd the mountains right behind it."
Me thinking: Sweetie? You've only known me 3 hours. And, yeah, I see it. It's a long river. I've seen it hundreds of times. And I used to LIVE in those mountains (as I've mentioned several times before)!
Me: The trees are just gorgeous this time of year.
I don't mind them, though. They're exceptionally nice people. They're just a little random. But the best thing? Today they said to me "It's not finalized yet, but we're going to be offering healthcare benefits" YAY!!!!!!!! It's been so long since I've had healthcare. This ROCKS!!! Possibly more pay AND healthcare. Definitely hoping this works out. It probably won't, knowing me, but I hope.
On the way home, I bought some new pants. I had NO khakis that fit me any more, and only one pair of black slacks that are now slightly too big. So it was a much needed trip. And I actually found two pairs that actually fit me. And I dropped two sizes, which rocks muchly!

Date: 2005-11-10 09:34 pm (UTC)And good deal about the pants! That is awesome. And especially if it is a surpise. You're like "I'll try to put these on, they'll never fit but I want to see how close.... holy cow!!! They fit, they fit!! *and jumping and squeeling ensues*" *** ok- at least that is how *I* am. hehehehe
Best of luck with job situation.

Date: 2005-11-12 10:05 pm (UTC)Well, it's not a done deal yet, but I'm VERY hopeful. I'm a very paranoid person so just having it will make me feel a lot better just in case.
My sister and her husband don't have it which always makes me very nervous.(Only their baby is covered)
Well, at least their baby is! Good for them there. But, yeah, I definitely empathize with the nervousness.
And more congrats on dropping 2 sizes, that really does rock. I had lost of lot of weight last year, but sadly I've been on a six month binge and gained most of it back. None of my pants fit me either, but for the opposite reason. :o.
I managed to lose SOME weight, but I'm still not down to where I need to be considering how much I've gained in the last few years. So I'm sort of between pants at the moment. I can't fit into my older pants still, and the ones I bought after I gained a LOT of weight are a little too big for me. So I'm stuck in-between. I can usually make that work, what with the fact that a few are stretchy jeans and I have a belt or two and can tuck shirts in... but that doesn't fly when it comes to business casual/formal wear. It was really great to go down a size or two when I bought the pants, though. Now if only I could get back down enough to be able to fit into the clothes I bought 4 years ago... especially since I already bought myself a congratulatory gift that I can't open until I drop the weight and it's driving me mad. LOL!

LOL No, that was definitely me. Doing air punches in front of the mirror in the dressing room and all! I probably could have technically fit into the size smaller than that... if I didn't care about walking or sitting down or breathing ;-) But, yes, definitely nice. I hope to experience it again soon... and hopefully that'll be enough to get me to exercise even more.
Best of luck with job situation.
Thanks so much!!! *crosses fingers*
