Holiday Gift Meme

A number of people have expressed interest in giving me something for the holidays this year, especially as I've already taken requests for fics. I appreciate all your offers muchly and hope this list will help with that. I've replied to most of you personally in LJ posts when you made the original offers... but if you want a more specific suggestion than the wish list below states, drop me a note and I'll get back to you.
I've also go to say there's no pressure at all to give me something. I don't expect anything from anyone even if I'm writing you a gift fic. The gift fics are my way of saying thank you for reading my stuff throughout the year and my way of bringing just a little extra happy to everyone this time of year. So if RL gets too hectic (as it certainly can during the holidays) or the muses aren't with you, don't worry one bit. I'm just posting this because so many people wanted to see it. There's no pressure or expectation attached what-so-ever.
Wish List Meme:
Step One:
- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.
Step Two
- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it. You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call. There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

Oh, and I celebrate the winter solstice (Dec 21), Christmas, and New Year's. But I'll be tied up with gift fics for a while so even receiving a present in Jan would be a nice way to end things. So whatever whenever :-)

Okay, so I've got a 3 page document ongoing with things I want (it's not as bad as it sounds, I promise) but my LJ version of my wish list is:
- Art- I've got to open with the art. As I'm such a bad artist and incapable of doing this myself, I would absolutely LOVE a drawing/art done for any of my fics. That would just be incredible and mind-blowingly awesome.
- Fic for weekly bunny #79 (general)- This is SUCH a weakness of mine. I would adore a fic written for me with this concept at its heart. Throw in a hooded sweatshirt/cloak and/or scarf and a cuddly pet of some sort and I'd be in absolute heaven.
- Fics in general- if you want to write me a fic, I'd most love something of the slash variety with lots and lots of fluffy, snuggly smarm or something really kinky and smutty (really the only things that squick me lately are watersports and scat and v-ing so you're relatively safe as far as kinks go, and my favorite kink to read is wanking *blush*). I would *adore* a sneezefic or something with strong h/c themes but I do read and appreciate non-sneezing fics... so if it's something you think I'd like, go for it. I prefer coldfics to allergy ones, but those definitely have their moments, too. My tastes in fandoms change VERY frequently (sometimes many times within one day) but my current favorite pairings are: Spike/Xander, Obi/Qui, Sirius/Remus, Bill/Remus(especially werewolf!Bill), Oliver/Percy, Legolas/Gimli, Sawyer/Sayid, Logan/Kurt, Brian/Justin, Michael/Ben. But you all know my long list of fandoms so if there's something else you think I'd like, go for it. And feel free to post a "what about this?" post if you think of something you'd like to write for me and are wondering if I'd like it or not.
- Cedric Fic- I really would LOVE to read a sneezefic with Cedric in it. Especially after seeing the movie, I find Hufflepuff dynamics just fascinating. He's got a nice group of friends in the movie and it's interesting to see how he interacts with them and how true he is to his convictions. He's smart and touch and loyal and fair and friendly and sweet. Plus he's damn handsome and a Quidditch Captain and a Prefect and becomes a Champion for the entire school... he's a fascinating character and I would love to see how he deals with being sick, what sort of support he gets from people around him, etc. (It's always interesting to me to see Marauder h/c dynamics- which are always so cuddly and sweet- versus trio dynamics- always good h/c but less touchy-feely- versus Slytherin h/c- which is somewhat nonexistant by choice- so it would be interesting to see how Hufflepuffs handle it).
- Icons- I've got some slots free icon-wise. I'd love some new personally-made icons :-) Of what? No idea. Apart from needing a great Easter icon, I'm not sure what else I need. Perhaps you've noticed something, though? "Ohh, tg needs a funny!Jedi icon" or "her plot bunnies icon sucks, I'll make a new one" or "tg writes a lot of 'stuff' posts. She needs a good 'stuff' icon to accompany her posts" etc. So if you think of an icon I need and can make it, that would be great.
- Chocolate Frogs- I'm very, very slowly (because I can never find them in stores) collecting HP chocolate frog cards. I've thought of buying them on e-bay but I think that's cheating. Plus it would deprive me the fun of eating the chocolate. So, yeah, if you feel like sending me an *actual* present in snail mail, that's a good, small one :-)
- Fannish Christmas Ornaments- I've got a handful of fandom-related ornaments but I find they're a fun addition my already strange variety of Christmass tree ornaments. This year I bought myself a little silver stag (HP) and the Halmark Gandalf ornament (LotR). And I've got a number of others (an HP1 scene, a few pooh & eeyore ones, a Capitals one). I'd love some others, though.
- DVDs/Books/etc- Of course I've got a terribly long list of things I'd like. I don't actually expect anyone here to get me anything as only one or two people who read this know me in real life. But given the rest of this fandom-heavy wish list, I felt it made sense to mention :-)
- Surprise- surprise me with something! You could make me a (non-story-related) drawing/graphic of some sort or submit a bunch of bunnies to the weekly hatching system or volunteer to code some fics (I'm terribly behind- SORRY!) or claim some moods over at the SF132 group or make me a recommendations list of fanfic, fanvids, and/or fanart you think I'd like with summaries/comments about each or send me a whole bunch of photos of nummy boys (EWAN! *looks hopeful*) or... well, suprise me! :-)
