Story: 2005 Gift for Meg


Happy New Year! After all you've done for me and helped me with this year, I simply *had* to write something for you. I hope you enjoy it. And since it's a little different... some explanation: I know you said no LOST, but I thought maybe you wouldn't mind this so much. And I know you're not into Stargate quite yet, but I thought maybe you wouldn't mind that, either. But if you'd prefer I lose one of those sections and write about another Jack (Jack Bower?) I'd be glad to. But, yeah, four sections, four different Jacks, four different fandoms. Thought you might get a kick out of it at least :-) Hope it made you smile! *HUGS*

It took me a second, but I loved each of those Jacks and how in some ways they were very different but they all felt miserable and wanted to be home and with someone that cared about them.

It was very cute and made me think that if you had added a reference at the beginning or the end about someone playing cards, it could have been more like a hand of cards- 4 Jacks. (Just a random thought)

But I loved it. Really unique and creative.

I was so surprised when I first read this more than a day ago I didn't know how I was going to thank you. And then my power was off all day yesterday so I couldn't reply as soon as I wanted to but:

Aww! This was just so nice of you, really clever, too. It made me happy and smile and warm and fuzzy so thank you for that. I really don't know what do say right now as my hands are freezing...I'm going to have to compose myself and try again later in an email, I think. ;-)

The four vignettes, with four different "Jacks" from four fandoms, are such fun, and a very creative idea. At first, I was hoping it would be a Jack Bristow fic all the way along, but got swept up in the novelty of flowing through three more fandoms. Yes, I was also thinking about Jack Bower and wondering why he wasn't in the mix, but tossing in one book Jack (Clancy's Jack Ryan, I presume?) among the three television Jacks was a good way to mix it up.

I'll have to remember that for a fic I can actually have a proper title four.
