On Jeopardy tonight they asked who the singer was to a particular song, then played a clip of The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins! I shouted 'Leonard Nimoy!' but they didn't hear me on the TV :-( And then I just sang along with the song. One person rang in and got it wrong, and the others had no clue. LOL I suppose it's a rather random question, but it's important! It's Leonard singing about Bilbo! Gotta love fandoms crossing into each other. heehee

Just wanted to share. That was quite thrilling for me to hear :-)

Whoa! I've heard many times of that song/video, but this is the first time I've actually heard/seen it. That is one odd, trippy video...especially that little dance! It's strangely fitting, though, considering that Leonard Nimoy opened the door to my finding pointy ears incredibly sexy. *G*

It's it just a hoot? The outfits... and the big buttons I've never been able to make out completely. The dance is really something else, too. I like the head jiggle move and the 3-feet-tall bit. *facepalm* Trippy's a good word for it!

But, all amusement regarding the video aside, I think the song is adorable. I love filk/fandom songs and ballads in general... so I enjoy the song for what it is. Sweet brave, noble Bilbo *huggles* I especially like the last verse with the plot from The Hobbit in there. It's the only verse I know completely off the top of my head, though the others I can sing to if I've got the music :-)

As for the ears... oh, I hear you there. Leonard singing it does make sense in a strange sort of way :-) Least it wasn't Bill. I adore the man and his style to death but... ah... it just wouldn't have fit this song. Yeah, that's it...
