The Friday Five
Jan. 26th, 2006 11:59 pmI just added a pretty button section to the sidebar of my journal *snuggles journal*
1. First time you cooked for someone else?
I cooked a meal or two for my family when earning my cooking badge in girl scouts. Pancakes and waffles I think were my first things.
2. First time you threw up in someone else's toilet?
Oh GODS. Um. *panics* Third grade sick at school. Just before Thanksgiving, of course. Not good.
3. First time you did anything illegal?
Um... I guess that would be having a drink or two of alcohol while in college, before I turned 21.
4. First time you saw snow/the ocean (whichever is more exotic)?
I suppose I saw the ocean the first time in Cape Cod when I was 5 or 6 and there for a family reunion with my mother's side of the family. I don't remember being awed or anything. Same goes for snow, though the first place I lived in the US was Vermont so I was never a stranger to snow.
5. First thought when I say "crumple-horned snorcack"?
My gods, that's a random question! I mean, these have all been random but this one especially!
Then I think about writing a Dr. Seuss and Harry Potter crossover

Date: 2006-01-27 09:42 pm (UTC)If you feel like playing around with layouts and customizations and userpics and need any help, just let me know and I'd be glad to help :-) Or if you want a special icon, I might be able to make you something next week when I'm back home (not dog-sitting).

Date: 2006-01-28 02:50 am (UTC)1. Save the icon you want to use on your computer (make sure it's not too big)
2. Go to the Manage Userpics page and upload that picture:
-Select FROM FILE
-Click on the BROWSE button and select the picture you have saved on your computer
-Click the PROCEED button
3. Your picture should be up and working!
If you'd like something in particular, I'd be happy to do my best and make you one. In which case it'd be just the same as the steps above. Save it on your computer and upload it. There are thousands of communities and pages that offer LJ user icons, though. So I'm sure you'll be able to find ones you like :-)
As for layout/customization... there are tons of different styles and colors already set in the LJ system. So you can just try one at a time and see which ones you like best. I'm a fan of the blue & purple Generator styles, myself. And I'm using the FlexableSquares one now.
