Catching up
Mar. 27th, 2006 01:50 pmI haven't made a lot of posts lately... gah. Bad tg. LOL Nothing much has been going on, though. Same old, same old.
I donated blood yesterday- had NO problem with the testing (heartbeat was fine, iron levels were perfect) and I drank a LOT beforehand and during so I finished in five minutes- whoohoo!! However, the woman who stuck my arm did NOT do so good a job. I warned her (as I always do) that my veins are deeper than they seem but they're there. She re-tied the rubber strap on my upper arm FOUR TIMES, trying to get my veins to show up more (they never do). She kept making it tighter and tigther and I could see she was nervous about sticking me, not sure exactly where to put it. But she decided she had one (the one people always go for and never hit) and she didn't hit it. Big surprise. But instead of going out and trying again, she started stabbing around inside, changing angle, moving it aside to a different spot, OMG I've never had it hurt so much! LOL I actually winced! I never wince. I even thought about volunteering to do it myself! Finally she stuck me and then it started and she got all amazed that it was going so easily. LOL "I told you, it's just finding the vein that's the problem" I said to her. She laughed but looked quite amazed. *rolls eyes*
Took my car in last night for an oil change. So I'm careless today. Luckily, no work today. Yayness. I've got a LOT I need to be doing. And so far today all I did was sleep. But I'm a fan of sleeping :-)
I issued my first challenge at BookCrossing. It's to get people to release Scottish books in honor of Tartan Day (April 6th). I'm excited about it. Both the challenge and Tartan Day. I'm thinking of wearing my new kilt- the one my grandmother left me. I've never actually worn a kilt before and I'm not sure I have a shirt to wear that goes with it.
Man, am I glad Prison Break is back on?!!! But I'm soooo worried. I don't want my boy to die tonight! *worries*
Oh, and the Capitals... LOL 8 games of losses and then we beat the best team in the division. Gods, I love hockey. It makes no sense, but that's why I love it. Any given night...
