Gah. Just came back from the book sale at the library. Massive amount of books. I bought a lot... but I've been saving my cash for months for this and I knew I'd buy a lot and... well... I'm happy!

  • Great Book of Hockey (Hardback)- Huge, thick hardback in great condition. Published 1991 but contains TONS of oldtime hockey stuff as well as more recent things. The only hockey reference book I own is a kids book I bought from another library sale last week... but this is for adults ;-)
  • Stunk & White Elements of Style- for my boss who didn't know what a Style Manual was *facepalm* and who desperately needs one!
  • Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde and Treasure Island by Robert Louis Sevenson (Audio Books)- I haven't read either of these but I adore Robert Louis Sevenson and I've always wanted to read both of these. So yay!
  • Kidnapped by Robert Louis Sevenson (2 copies)- For BookCrossing with
  • Witchlight by Marion Zimmer Bradley (Audio Book)- I love MZB's works but hadn't read this one and thought it might be nice to listen to
  • Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood by Rebecca Wells (Audio Book)- I started reading this but gave my copy away to a BookCrossing secret pal so I never finished it. So now I can!
  • The History of the Town of Fairfax (Hardback)- I don't live in Fairfax but I work 30 seconds from it. I thought this would be a very interesting read
  • Dog Stories- a collection of various stories... I bought this for an upcoming BookCrossing Challenge
  • The Dog I.Q. Test- Again, for the BookCrossing challenge, but I thought this would be a lot of fun to do first. We did a simplified version of this once with my old dog and she didn't score well at all :-) But she made up for it in spades in other areas
  • The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle- I've always wanted to read this but never have
  • Outlander by Diana Gabaldon (2 copies)- You can never have too many copies of this book! LOL No, really, I bought these to BookCross with as well
  • Star Wars- The Hutt Gambit by A.C. Crispin- This is Volume 2 of the Han Solo Trilogy. I started reading Volume 1 a few weeks ago
  • Star Wars- Rebel Dawn by A.C. Crispin- This is Volume 3 of the Han Solo Trilogy. I started reading Volume 1 a few weeks ago
  • Return to Oz- It's movie-based and I'll be BookCrossing with it
  • Choose Your Own Adventure- Planet of the Dragons- They had a few Choose Your own Adventure books there, so I only bought one. Now I have a collection of three in total :-) I just loved these as a kid
  • Eragon by Christopher Paolini (Hardback)- I've been dying to read this book and its sequel and I thought it was fantastic fate to find a hardback version just sitting there waiting for me to love it :-) Whoohoo! Think I might start on it as soon as I'm done with the Angel book I'm reading right now
  • British/American Language Dictionary (Passport Books)- I use two different online dictionaries when I write fics set in the UK and now I don't have to be online in order to look something up!!! Whoohoo! What really sold me on this copy was the illustration at the end explaining the proper way to flip someone off. How useful! LOL
  • British Phrasebook (Lonely Planet)- Yes, I bought TWO British/American books but this one was tiny and sooo cute! With pictures and everything divided up into categories like brand names, household items, time/dates, education, music, food, etc. And this one has loads of cute cartoon pictures as well. I couldn't choose between the two so I bought them both.
  • Webster's Pocket Medical & First Aid Dictionary-- Because I don't have a medical reference or first aid book and you KNOW it'll come in handy when writing (now I don't have to keep borrowing the family's)
  • The Vision of Escaflowne Vol 1 (Manga)- I honestly haven't seen the anime but it's on my list and it's volume 1 so I couldn't resist (I passed up a couple InuYasha ones I might get if they're still there on Sat)
  • Fantastic Four Vol 1- Awww! I just had to, you know?
  • X/1999 Duet (Vol 6) (Manga)- Whoohoo! I bought Volume #5 a while ago at a library book sale and now I have #6. Slowly, I shall acquire them all!
  • The Man from UNCLE- The Mad Scientist Affair- I bought a copy of this from the used bookstore a few months ago and just finished reading it a few weeks ago. It's the only Man from UNCLE book I've ever read and the only one they had there! I planned to BookCross with the first one so I can keep this one forever and ever for myself and drool over the sexy agents :-)
  • The House at Pooh Corner- I ADORE this book and (though I listened to it on tape at LEAST 50 times as a kid) I've never owned a copy. And now I do. Whoohoo! They actually had two copies with different covers... I had a hard time choosing
  • Why You Should Never Beam Down in a Red Shirt- Looked like a fun Star Trek Quiz Book! heehee
  • Buffy tvs- The Watcher's Guide (Golden & Holder)- I very nearly bought this in the bookstore back when I was waiting for my copy of HP:HBP for a few hours. But I didn't have the money to throw around and OMG there it was today for $1!! So excited!

So... all this for $25. I was VERY pleased. I'm hoping there will still be some manga left when I stop by after work tomorrow. And/or when I pop by on Saturday (last day of the sale). There were a few books I promised myself only to buy on the last day (when everything's, like $0.50-$0.25). But I'm veeeeeeery happy now. Wish there'd been some Jedi Apprentice books but, hey, I think I did all right for myself!

Great finds, I'm so jealous, our library book sale was this week too(started last Sat) and I haven't made it there all week. I may try tomorrow, but I'm thinking things will be pretty picked over by then. I was hoping especially for some BC books. (I'm looking for dog stuff too, that alone will probably be worth going for still)

I read Treasure Planet (saw the disney movie based on it too) and it's really good. I think you'll like it.

And you're lucky. My library's book sale isn't until June. On my birthday too, so I'll be too busy to go.

Are you enjoying the Han Solo Trilogy so far? I remember reading those books in middle school. I was in a race against my friend to see who could finish first. If I remember correctly I think he lost because he lost the final book before he could finish. Good times.
