Another day...

Another day, another stop at the book sale. Came home with a TON of good books even though pickings were slim:

• Twelve Dog books- various dog books, all for a BC challenge
  
• Greyfriars Bobby by Eleanor Atkinson- A dog book for meeeeee! I love this story (and saw his marker in Scotland when I visited!) and I can always use it for next year's Scotland challenge if I decide not to keep it (but I think I'll be keeping it)
  
• Complete Hockey Instruction by Dave Chambers- Oohhh! With plays and skills and everything. This will soooo come in handy when watching hockey and when writing Jamie-based Strokes fics
  
• On the Road by Howard Berger- An inside view of life with an NHL team- OMG how did I not see this before! *wants* *grabs* *hugs*
  
• Hockey Trivia by Don Weekes- with quizzes, games, and brain teasers- naturally I thought I'd like this *G* There's a personal note on the inside cover from someone calling herself "Hockey Momma" giving it to the "Hockey brothers" with love. Awww! Why didn't they want it any more?! *sniffles*
  
• Wild Mountain Thyme by Rosamunde Pilcher- Might be a moth on the cover (damn- this week's BC challenge is a butterfly) but it'll definitely count for next year's BC Scotland challenge
  
• Summer Lovers by various authors- Has a butterfly on the cover so I'll be BCing with this
  
• Highland Groom by Hannah Howell- Again with the BC Scotland challenge
  
• The Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco- for BCing with
  
• James Joyce- A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man- I have owned 3 copies of this book. I BCed with one last St.Patty's day and kept one for myself. So I can save this one for BCing with next St.Patty's day, too, and start a tradition
  
• Lady Chatterley's Lover by D.H. Lawrence- I'm in love with this book. Nearly done reading it, but I only have a BC copy that I need to send on when I'm done, so i can keep this one and re-read it whenever I like!
  
• LotR: FotR by Tolkien- I should have bought these on day one so I could have a complete set (of course Legolas would be the missing one)... but I love my original set so much I will probably end up BCing with this. It's got movie-Frodo on the cover
  
• LotR: RotK by Tolkien- See above comment, only with brooding Aragorn on the cover. Will probably BC with
  
• Star Trek: Spectre by William Shatner- On day three, there were just a few ST novels left... most of which were written by Bill. *pats sympathetically* So I took pity on one and bought it. Seems like a pretty interesting plot, though
  
• The Joy of Signing by Lottie L. Riekenhof (Hardback)- For the last few days I've been thinking about trying again to learn how to sign. I know the alphabet and about 30 words on top of that but that's it. I've ALWAYS wanted to learn and I even have a 'learn how to sign' DVD on my Blockbuster queue. But I always have to take books out of the library and now I own one. Yay :-)
  
• Nightmares & Dreamscapes by Stephen King (Hardback)- I've been seeing the TV commercials for this for the last few days and I hadn't read it so I thought I should buy it and do so :-)
  
• Four Past Midnight by Stephen King (Hardback)- I have a small paperback copy but this was too pretty to pass up. So I'll BC with the paperback
  
• Drawing Down the Moon by Margot Adler- I've been staring at this for a few days and I told myself if it was still available today I'd by it. Clearly there aren't a lot of Pagans desperate for old reading material around here because there it was today and I bought it. Yippie!
  
• Cold Fire by Koontz (Hardback)- a graduation present for my boss' son for graduation- he collects Koontz books and I don't think he has this one
  
• The Taking by Koontz (Hardback)- See above comment
  
• The Talisman by Stephen King and Peter Straub- Haven't read, but I adore King so I thought I might give it a shot
  
• The Robber Bride by Margaret Atwood- Other Atwood books are on my "want to read" list... so I thought I might try this one also
  
• Coyote by Catherine Reid- Because, well, yeah. I'm me and I think I'd like this
  
• Invitation to Camelot by various authors- I'm a sucker for anything Arthurian
  
• The Lost Years of Merlin by T.A. Barron- See above comment
  
• Star Wars by George Lucas- a novelization of the first movie, with pictures. I couldn't resist
  
• The General by C.S.Forester- Oohhh. I definitely trust the writer and look forward to this
  And the prize of my findings today... drum roll please...
  
• Mr.Midshipman Hornblower by C.S.Forester- SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
  
• Admiral Hornblower in the West Indies by C.S.Forester (large book, matching the one I already have)- DOUBLE SQUEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Who in the world would give this away?!!! LOL
  

So all that (40 books) for... $14. (I'd pay that much for one Hornblower book alone!)

So that brings my 3 day spending spree total to... (assuming I counted correctly)
73 books and 2 videos for $43 (coming out to about 57 cents per book)
Not bad! Especially as there are so many books I love so much I'd practically sleep with

*tries to get image of Remus having sex with a book (from a fic I once read) out of my head*

Good thing I've been saving up money for this event and I just got my check for Jury Duty in the mail yesterday which covers nearly all of this
